Oh God,
Let us take care of Christ while there is still time;
let us minister to Christ’s needs,
let us give Christ nourishment,
let us clothe Christ, let us gather Christ in,
let us show Christ honor.
Let us give this gift to him through the needy,
who today are cast on the ground.

Have mercy on us, oh God,
and help us to follow in the steps of Christ our Lord
who comes to us in the guise of the poor
and implores us also to be merciful.

Amen.

A Prayer for all Poor, Homeless, and Neglected People

O GOD, Almighty and merciful, who heals those that are broken in heart, and turns the sadness of the sorrowful to joy; Let your fatherly goodness be upon all that you have made. Remember in pity those who are this day destitute, homeless, or forgotten by their fellow men. Bless the congregation of your poor. Uplift those who are cast down. For those who suffer innocently, I pray that you will sanctify their endurance of the wrongs worked on them, keeping their hearts free of bitterness. Cheer with hope all discouraged and unhappy people, and help those who are tempted into sin by their poverty; though they be troubled on every side, suffer them not to be distressed; though they be perplexed, save them from despair. Grant this, O Lord, for the love of him, who for our sakes endured poverty and blameless suffering, your Son, our Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

When I was hungry, you gave me food
When I was thirsty, you gave me drink
When I was naked , you clothe’d me.
What you do to the least of these my brethren you do unto me.
Let this be done Father, according to your will.
in Christ’s love

Prayer to St. Francis Xavier

Most amiable and most loving
St. Francis Xavier,
in union with thee
I reverently adore the Divine Majesty.
The remembrance of the favours
with which God blessed thee during life,
and of thy glory after death,
fills me with joy.
I implore thee to obtain for me,
through thy powerful intercession,
the inestimable blessing of living
and dying in the state of grace.
I also beseech thee to obtain the special favour
I ask of this prayer.

But, if what I ask is not for the glory of God,
and the good of my soul,
I pray and desire that
which is the most conductive to both.

Amen.

Pray for us, St. Francis Xavier.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let Us Pray:
O God, Who didst vouchsafe,
by the preaching and miracles of Saint Francis Xavier,
to join unto Thy Church the nations of the Indies,
grant, we beseech Thee,
that we who reverence his glorious merits
may also imitate his example,
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

O God, Who gladdens us by the annual expectation of our Redemption, grant that we, who now receive with joy Your only-begotten Son as our Redeemer, may behold him without fear when He comes as our judge, even the same Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for the feast of the Immaculate Conception

O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, did prepare a worthy dwelling place for Your Son, we beseech You that, as by the foreseen death of this, Your Son, You did preserve Her from all stain, so too You would permit us, purified through Her intercession, to come unto You. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
Amen.
