Today’s funeral for Mitchell was concelebrated by three priests. Over 600 attended, mostly youth fifteen and sixteen years old. It was an opportunity for many to experience a Catholic Mass for the first time. They were very reverent, especially listening to the priests instructions for a blessing (not receiving the Eucharist unless they were Catholics in good standing).
Although very sad, it was also very beautiful. The children finally had an opportunity to grieve, and for many of them, have hope, because they might have been hearing the promises of Christ for the first time. Especially one Muslim girl who also attended.

Please continue to pray for Mitchell and his family, and now, I’m adding all of those lovely children who might have been attending a Mass for the first time today.
