You can do all of this prayers (recommended) but try every day to give yourself to God, offer Him your daily work, preach the word of God, stay away from the temptations of satan. Good deeds is also a important factor

My family growing up always added the Hail Mary to meal prayers and also the Eternal Rest prayer. Here is the version we used then, the same I use now with my own family and 8th grade RE class:
Eternal rest grant unto them o’ Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
And when it’s a birthday or the anniversary of a loved one or friend we change a few words:
Eternal rest grant unto him/her o’ Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him/her. May his/her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
There can never be enough prayers for those in purgatory.

I have been doing the stations for the plenary indulgences. Actually, I’ve been using the meditations from the Purgatorian Society’s manual. My dear friend promised me he’d pray for my little girl when he got to heaven, so I’m hoping he’s there

I recently picked up a little prayer book, “The Pieta Prayer Book”.
On page 23 it states a couple prayers and practices we can do for souls in purgatory.
For example, the Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great:
“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.”
On page 23 it states a couple prayers and practices we can do for souls in purgatory.
For example, the Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great:

St. Gertrude’s life was the mystic life of the Cloister – a Benedictine nun. She meditated on the Passion of Christ, which many times brought a flood of tears to her eyes. She did many penances and Our Lord appeared to her many times. She had a tender love for the Blessed Virgin and was very devoted to the suffering souls in Purgatory. She died in 1334. Her feast day is November 16th.

My Jesus, By the sorrows you suffered
In your agony in the garden,
In the scourging and crowning with thorns,
In the way to Calvary,
In your crucifixion and death,
Have mercy on the souls in purgatory,
Especially those who are most forsaken.
Deliver them from the dire torments they endure,
and admit them to your most sweet embrace in Paradise.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon them,
May they rest in peace.
Amen
