Influenza is hitting hard, fast and early this year.
Praying that people become aware of this and get vaccinated right away.
Praying for all those that care for the sick.
Praying for all those already suffering and mourning the death of a loved one.

Yes, my youngest son was rushed to hospital with his organs shutting down due to a sudden onset of the virulent new strain. He’s recovered. The vaccines this year didn’t cover that strain. Even so yes, vaccination is crucial

Lord have mercy on the souls and their families of those who have not survived.
Thank You for the marvels of modern medicine, and the knowledge and devotion of health professionals.
Thank You for their generous care of the sick, and of the dying.

Mother Mary, please 'pray for us now, and at the hour of our death.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Those affected by influenza). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Those affected by influenza’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
