Today I visited a corner gas station just to pick up a bottle of cold water to sip on. Standing at the register, I noticed a beautiful crucifix on the wall.

I commented on it to the cashier. She responded, “Oh yeah, the owner of this station is Jewish”

I began to respond, “Oh really? Is he here now?”

But as I opened my mouth to speak, she corrected herself, “Oh no, I meant Catholic, you know, one of those religions…”

Anyway, the experience left me with concern for the cashier, who wasn’t quite sure whether the owner was Jewish or Catholic, but felt safe in thinking she was at least in the ball park…

About a year ago, a co-worker asked me during Lent, “What exactly is Good Friday?” She went on to explain that her parents never even taught her to brush her teeth, much less take her to church. She didn’t even start brushing her teeth until she was 10 or 11 because she really didn’t know any better. To this day, she has never been to church (now 26 years old)…

😦

Dear Lord, please reach out to all of your children who, maybe, through no fault of their own, do not know you as well as they could, and maybe do not know how to come to know you. Help me to reach out to them more if I ever find myself in this type of situation again.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Wonderful prayer request. I pray that God uses us to proclaim his word to everyone we meet.

Dear Little Mary,
Amen to your prayer,
“Dear Lord, please reach out to all of your children who, maybe, through no fault of their own, do not know you as well as they could, and maybe do not know how to come to know you. Help me to reach out to them more if I ever find myself in this type of situation again.”
It seems that God leads you to little ones of His who don’t know Him. May your generous heart be a conduit of His truth and love to such innocents.

Bless you, Trishie 🙂
