Gracious Lord almighty, Jesus Christ, let Thy sufferings aid us, and defend us from all pain and grief, all peril and misery, all uncleanness of heart, all sin, all scandal and infamy, from evil diseases Or soul and body, from sudden and unforeseen death, and from all persecution of our foes visible and invisible.

For we know that in what day or hour we call to mind Thy Passion, we shall be safe.

Therefore, relying on Thine infinite tenderness, we beseech Thee, O loving Saviour, by Thy most benignant and sacred sufferings to protect us with gracious aid, and in continual tenderness to preserve us from all evil.

A PRAYER FOR RELATIVES, FRIENDS AND ENEMIES

Jesus, Son of Mary, we pray for all who are near and dear to us. We beg You to bring them all into the light of Your truth, or to keep them in Your truth if they already know it, and to keep them in a state of grace, and to give them the gift of perseverance.
Thus we pray for our fathers and our mothers, for our children, for our brothers and sisters, for our friends, for our neighbours, for our superiors and rulers; for those who wish us well, for those who wish us ill; for our enemies; for our rivals; for our injurers and for our slanderers. And not only for the living, but for the dead, who have died in the grace of God, that He may shorten their time of expiation, and admit them into His Presence above.

~A Prayer for Mankind~

O Eternal Father,
I lift my heart to thee
And I pray for the people of all nations,
Irrespective of race, colour or creed.
I realize they are all thy children, Father,
And I therefore link them up together in my heart
And my prayers as such.

I pray for the disquited souls of man,
I pray for those who are sorrowful and lonely;
For the unloved;
For those who feel themselves unwanted;
For those broken by life;
I pray, O Father, for ALL humanity.

I pray for those in prisons,
Those in asylums;
Those who are bedridden at home or in a hospital;
Those who are hungry;
Those who have a terminal illness;
I pray for all of the caregivers who tend the sick,
And I pray for all of the families of these people
Asking that they be given the strength,
Endurance,
Resourcefulness
And upliftment to continue their quest.

I ask thy care of those on battlefields of the world
Who at the call of duty are now away from loved ones,
On land, on sea and in the air.

I pray for those mourning a loss of dear ones
Or for those who are preparing for their death,
Or have passed on from the physical life.
Be with them, O Father,
And bring them the knowledge
That there is no death -
That life goes on forever.
And, I would ask that I myself may be a means
To give forth thy love to one another.

I pray that Thy blessing and Thy joy
may rest upon the world, until the day
when time ceases to be.
