Prayers for two wonderful nuns

Hello friends

I’d be grateful for you to join me in praying for two lovely nuns who do voluntary work with the homeless and destitute of our town. These ladies are both in their 80s but are full of life and compassion (and fun).

I work with them once a week and they’ve been in my thoughts lately, because of their age and dedication to others. They’ve made me realise the commitment of those who enter religious orders in their youth and spend their whole lives in that vocation.

Heavenly Father,
in your wisdom you have called
certain women
to a life of special consecration
so that in prayerful observance
of a lifestyle of poverty,
chaste celibacy and obedience,
they might be witnesses to us
that as St. Paul says,
“our true citizenship is in heaven.”
Give them, Lord,
the grace of joy and perseverance
in their holy vocation.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
