Prayers for Wife with Terminal Cancer

Please pray for my wife, whose Stage 4 cancer was discovered last summer. Her doctors here in Japan believe she will die quite soon.

When I was tossing and turning on the futon early this morning, a specific Gospel verse popped into my head. Our Lord said to Peter (paraphrased):

When you were young you went where you wanted to go and did what you wanted to do. But when you are old, a belt will be placed around your hands and you will be led where you do not want to go.

That seems to be my wife’s situation now, even though she is only 37. And our first child is 14 months.

In gratitude and with love in Christ, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

I will pray for you, your wife, and your children, Japan Bill.
 
The holy Mother is my preferred saint’ i will pray to her to give you the strength to cope. and for your wife. god bless
 
Saddened deeply to read your Post, JP…I will be keeping your wife in daily prayer and you too for strenth and courage at this truly difficult time…prayers too for your darling child…

THANK YOU to everyone who has been praying for my wife and family in Japan. Rie is sinking into a hepatic coma now. Moments of consciousness and lucidity have all but disappeared.

Please pray for Rie’s final perseverance and a happy death, as well as for me and our baby.

Rie entered the Catholic Church in 2004, at age 34, but the course of her aggressive cancer has tested her faith to some extent. And under the best of circumstances, it is not easy to be Christian in Japan.

We are just entrusting everything to our Lord’s infinite love, mercy and compassion.

We were blessed with an important faith miracle on Wednesday, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, to whom we have had a special devotion.

My heart fills with sorrow for you, and I can only reach out in faith with you for Gods mercy and compassion. Peace be with you and your family.
 
I am filled with such sorrow for you Bill.😦 That passage brought tears to my eyes–I might not have ever viewed it like that. I will keep your wife and you in my prayers…and your baby. God bless you, may God give you a tangible reply to your prayers.
 
Oh, most Gracious Blessed Mother, be with Rie, be with Bill and their sweet child, surround them with your love and peace of your Son.
