Hello everyone,
Today is my 57th birthday, which would normally be a cause for celebration.
. However, I have a heavy heart over recent events and would appreciate your prayers for my wife’s uncle, who is in ICU a the hospital with severe heart problems.
Background:
My wife’s favorite aunt passed away Friday night in the hospital, a few days after a major stroke. She was in her mid to late 80’s. She was a fellow Christian (Southern Baptist) and she had suffered the stroke while at church. She loved being at church, so in a way, she was where she liked being the most when it happened, if that is any consolation.
My wife’s uncle (her husband) is around 90 and has had ongoing problems with his heart in recent years. The stroke of his dear wife (they had been married over 68 years) was devastating to him, as you might imagine. They were very close and loved each other dearly. His status now is touch-and-go.
Even though I am not Catholic, I would appreciate it if you could pray for him and the family, especially their daughter and son, who were devastated by the death of their dear mother only to find their father now in serious condition at the hospital.
I’ve heard of situations like this before where when one spouse dies, sometimes the surviving spouse loses the will to live. I don’t know if that is the case here or not but I suspect it might be.
Thanks for your prayers that the Lord’s Will would be done. I appreciate it very much.
