Brothers and sisters,

I haven’t asked for your prayers in what seems like a long while. I’m asking for them now because my spirit cannot seem to find peace, no matter what prayers I pray, what insights I’m given, what relaxation or stress relief I take. I’m mad as hell at a longtime friend of mine who, earnestly, hasn’t done anything to intentionally wrong me; rather, I am jealous and horribly envious, worse than I’ve ever been in my life, but I don’t want to be! I want there to be peace and satisfaction (but not complacency) with who I am as God’s child. Please pray for me! I’m in tears because of this!

Thank you!!!

You’re not mad at your friend, but at yourself for not being like your friend. Who you are has nothing to do with who your friend is.
There are a lot of people in my own family…let’s say all! …who have done so much better in so many ways than me, but like you, I am what I am, and I mostly just try! My family’s achievements are remarkable and for all the world to see…but my Dad recently wrote: “My children are a blessing and **I am intensely proud of each one/B.”
Read, from the Father to you: “My children are a blessing, and I am intensely proud of each one…including you.”

You are of course in my prayers. :)**

Dear Epistemes. I am praying the Pater Noster, Ave Maria, Oratio Fatimae and a Gloria Patri and will ask God to heal you and deliver you from your anguish.

Lord, please help Epistemes. May she love her friend with the love of your Son and not be jealous or envious. May she find peace and hope in the sacrifice of the Mass and Confession and talk with a good, holy priest about her feelings and get some spiritual direction. He should be able to help her find peace of mind and a true solution to her problem. I think the answer to her problem is you. May she enjoy intimate time with you in prayer and in the reception of you in the sacraments. Please give Epistemes your love and your grace. Amen.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to God for dappled things —
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced–fold, fallow, and plough,
And all trades, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.

Father give all of your children an understanding of the beauty you created in them; not only do our thoughts, words and actions glorify you but our very being is for your honor and glory. Give us the right spirit to praise you in a worthy manner. Amen.

and in my prayers too

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is love and mercy itself. Amen

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

I must admit that while the forefront anger and envy has gone, leaving me some peace, I find that there is still a lot of negative feeling towards this friend – and I unfortunately am most susceptible during Communion! :eek: 😦

I need prayers especially for the horrible state of my soul.

If more susceptible during Communion, this is an invitation to Jesus to ask Him to take care of the issue.
Jesus, our brother finds this burden of envy or whatever too difficult to bear. He gives it to You, each time it assails him.

Curtains of imperfection
Our God, it seems that all within me is a maze of curtains against the pure light of Your love. Those curtains, drawn aside, reveal drapes of faults in the dimness. These drapes too, when parted, allow illumination of other veils that were obscured in the darkness…And thus again, until wisps of curtained uncharity and unbelief are glimpsed everywhere within, only brushed aside temporarily in moments of grace to allow Your light to penetrate the deepest recesses of my being.

I discover that nowhere in my life is uncurtained to the light of Your pure love and truth. Even where I hope to find goodness is found veils of subtle sinfulness.

Finally, rejecting the despair of Judas I turn to You with repentant Peter, in sadness mingled with trust. I know that You will bless my continuing struggle and prayer in the white fire of divine love that blazes sin to nothing.

I ask pardon of You whom I do not yet love, and forgiveness of anyone I love poorly. Merciful Lord please give recompense to others and Yourself for my sins and faults, and grant all that Your perfect love can give.

“Offer to God the sacrifice of never gathering any fruit. If He wills that throughout your whole life, you should feel a repugnance to suffering and humiliation—if He permits that all the flowers of your desires and of your good will should fall to the ground without any fruit appearing, do not worry. At the hour of death He will cause fruits to ripen on the tree of your soul.” (Saint Therese quoted by Celine in ‘Counsels and Reminiscences’)
May God grant you faith, faithfulness, and peace
