Peace be with all,

Any Arabs here? Maronites for example? can anyone help me with Arabic links of Catholic prayers like “divine chapelet” ( 3O’clock prayer ?) and other prayers that Catholics usually pray beside the Rosary? i got the Rosary in Arabic but i lack so many that i hear about from our brothers and i don’t like to pray them in English since it’s not my first language:o

Thank you for any help. If i get no reply, which is very possible, thank you nonetheless.

Salaam to all.

You might try the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem (despite its name, its more Arab than the Orthodox Patriarchate  ). After all the divine chaplet is is a Latin devotion. A while back they gave me a translation of the St. Michael prayer, which I love and taught my sons.

Thank you Isa and Aramis 🙂 i did not know that our Bkerke has a website :o

😃 i thought you’re in Lebanon.
.

ya reet! I’ve never been. I was turned away at the border (at the time the US had voided US passports, which I was traveling on, to Lebanon). Even the Muslims told me, with a dreamy expression on their faces, that it is Paradise.
My sons and others tell me that I should marry a lubnaaniyyah.
i’d have invited you for coffee or smth
Allaah xalliih. in shaa’ al-Rabb, some day, shukran.

Hi,

I’m looking for the the ‘standard’ translations of prayers used in the Rosary (Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be, for example). I’ve seen different translations for the Our Father, for example but I don’t know which is the ‘main’ one - ie. which one would be used at a Mass said in Arabic or taught as daily prayers?

I’m looking in particular for the prayers in Arabic script (ie. not transliterated with English spellings).

I’ve tried searching the websites listed above but hadn’t any success finding them.

Could anyone recommend a website which would have these prayers?

Thanks in advance!

Normally these splinter groups aren’t Novus Ordo, versus populum, etc. I guess there’s always an exception or two. 🤷

Despite the oddities, though, the text of the Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, and Doxology seem to be authentic, albeit the Latin form in Arabic.

I understand what you mean. This is where I was having difficulty in trying to track down the generally-accepted translation of these three prayers. I came across the above website by accident in my search.

The church at the above website has an email address - I might email them to ask where they were able to find the Ordinary of the Mass in Arabic - a church in the US was not where I thought I’d find it!

Perhaps the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem might be a better place to seek out the Arabic text of the Roman Rite Mass. At least you’ll know it’s the “real thing” and not the by-product of some unknown splinter group.

Just my :twocents:

Thanks! I’ve emailed them to ask if they could tell me where I can find Arabic versions of the 3 main prayers (and others, if possible).

Well, I emailed both Pennsylvania and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the hope of receiving a reply from either. I received replies from both! The email from the Arabic Catholic Church in Pennsylvania mentioned that the prayers that are on the website comes from the Latin church and also mentioned that the Our Father translation can vary, depending on whether or not it originates from the Orthodox church (translation) or taken from Greek translations.

The reply I received from the LPJ was much more brief: a copy of the three prayers in Arabic! The three prayers match those on the Arabic Catholic Church website.

Hope this information is of help and thank you, malphono, for the advie.
