I need a lot of prayers. I feel I need to divorce my husband. He keeps abandoning me and his daughter (she’s not even 2) and having affairs, lying and disappearing. I have no job though and feel so scared but I don’t want to enable this bad behavior any longer. If he wants to make these decisions, that’s up to him, but I don’t want my daughter to witness this very destructive behavior. I need all the prayers I can get. I was madly in love with him for over 11 years until he dramatically changed this summer after his first affair. I don’t know what to do and I know that with God, there is always hope, but anytime I have some hope, he hurts me all over again and I’m beyond my breaking point and feel like I can’t handle this anymore emotionally or physically. Please pray for me and my daughter. I never ever wanted a divorce but after trying all other avenues such as marriage counseling, retrouvaille, therapy, books, prayers, separation, etc. I don’t know what else to do. He’s not going to stop his behavior unless he wants to - and he doesn’t want to. Please help me accept what God wants for me and help me to find peace and happiness again and get through this agony and devastation. Can you also please pray that I can find a job soon and not be financially dependent on him.

I will definitely add you to my prayers. I am so sorry that this is happening to you. You’re right that your daughter does not deserve to see her daddy acting like this. I will pray that God will convict his heart and return him to fidelity to you and his little girl.

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Prayers for you and your daughter AND for him to see the light and make a change.

Sometimes it helps to know you are not alone. My ex-wife had an affair while I was being ‘Mr. Mom’ with a three-year-old. She kept disappearing on a regular basis, and we finally divorced after about 2 years. I was working part-time jobs because of parental responsibilities, so my economic circumstances were grave as this was going-on.

Abandonment is a very painful thing to go through, even if you have the resources to cope. Try to remember that God walks with you in your trials; that Our Lord also suffered abandonment and rejection as he went to His Passion, and will help you if you ask for His help.

My prayers are with you.

Be not afraid.
