My name is Jesse, I’m 60 years old. I was raised by my grandmother,I am the product of a rape. My mother married when I was two and along with my good stepfather did all she could to help my grandmother raise me. Although I did very well in school,
I always chose bad friends and was sent to reform school twice.
While there, a priest, (Father Ed Donelon) got me started on the right path and although it took many years to get on the path it was a beginning. When I was 16 I married an 18 year old girl and had two boys, we divorced after 2 years. In my 20’s I had my ups and downs never fully committing to God.At 30 I married my wife and Father Ed came back into my life, with his help I began to live a christian life.My wife and I struggled greatly at times with my business but God always came through. We had a wonderful family. My wife was very pretty and dedicated to God and her family and I trusted her completely. After 20 years or so my business was doing very well and I quit praying as much and also
stopped explaining my business decisions to my wife and made big purchases without consulting her, not realizing that even though she didnt understand, it relieved her.At about this time she became the bookkeeper at the business, two of the kids were off to school and the third was a teenager, all doing very well.
She began to be more independant, she came and went as she pleased, I never questioned her. We bought a house that I wanted to rebuild, our friends had much nicer homes than we did and I wanted her to have a nicer home too.She didnt really approve of it though. She didnt see the possibilities that I did. Late one night when I was working late on the house I got a call from the police department wanting me to move my wifes car, it was in a senior citizens parking lot, they said she had been leaving the car there at night for over a year. By the time I got there she had driven the car home. She swore it wasnt her car but the police had identified
it. She finally confessed to an affair. I cant describe the pain I felt,
I was devastated. I didnt sleep that night. The next day she told me she had never really loved me. At this point I dont know if that was true or not. I became very angry I told all the children and all
our friends and family what she had done. She was devastated,
like me everyone thought she was perfect, and she couldnt cope with the scandal. I offered to take her back and forgive her but she said no, she filed for divorce. Its been 5 years. I was full of anger and hate unwilling to forgive, rejecting God, didnt go to mass.
Without Gods blessings and little ambition my business started failing.I mortgaged the house sold my Porsches and maxed out all my credit cards trying to save it,then a second mortgage, finally bankruptcy.Father Ed died about 3 years before the divorce I sure could have used him. 21 months ago I stated living with a woman with 3 children,2 of them adopted, special needs, teens.
Our relationship began to deteriorate when she had to put the two in foster care.During my bankruptcy she helped me meet my expenses while I was trying to establish myself and she wanted protection from me in case something happened so I gave her a promissory note for $22,000 and the title to my truck $7000.00
She had given me $30,000. We had agreed that upon the sale of my building the sales commission would be mine,$15,600 and about two weeks before we broke up, she needed money, so I gave her $4,000, that I didnt need for a month to pay off the IRS thinking she was going to give it back, she didnt. She also didnt pay me a $4,000 commission on a sale I had made. She had also agreed to buy groceries and pay utilities as her share of expenses utilities were $7,200. We broke up and I asked for my note and truck title back, she refused. She came with the sheriff
and took the truck. I wrote her a letter detailing everything and asked for my truck back and my commission, and threatened to take her to court. My lawyer said that she had the note and the title and I only had verbal agreements and that it would depend on the Judge but that it was worth trying. The next day I found a book on healing that my brother had given me, after reading it,
the holy spirit came to me and I knew I had to forgive everybody if I ever wanted to survive. I went to church and made a good confession, the priest told me that I would have Gods blessings again. My anger is gone,I pray for those who have hurt me. I’m reading the bible and praying but I lack courage and ambition I’m smoking and drinking too much, I dont like being alone. I still owe the IRS $4,000 which will become $14,000 after 01-25 she still has my note and truck. I realize I cant turn the corner by myself. I need your prayers.
Respectfully, Jesse
