It is me again. My oldest daughter, Carla, just informed me that tomorrow she is having a biopsy. Please pray that it will not be cancer. She didn’t want to tell me because of all my own medical problems and ones with my other three daughters.

It seems as though every month it is something new. I really need prayers to keep trusting in our Lord right now.

In a former request I asked for prayers for myself and had gone to a cardiologist who was just horrid, but my friend referred me to another and he seems like a lovely man. I am waiting for hear from him after the other doctor sends my tests results.

Sometimes I feel that my family should be a permanent fixture of this forum. I really can’t say enough to thank you all for your patience and loving prayers for my family.

God Bless

Bernadette

Bernadette,

Perhaps we can pray for each other. Mine aren’t health issues but heart issues.

Anyway, I deeply sympathize with your plight. The hardest thing is to be patient in waiting upon our Lord. If we could only know the why of the waiting, it might make it easier - then again perhaps it would make it harder, I’m not sure. Anyway God does know what is best. Even the Apostle Paul in his own way experienced some of what you are going through when he prayed to have his proverbial thorn removed (whatever that was). God’s answer to him is also one of his answers to us, “(My) power is made perfect in (your) weakness.” We rely on him more, we are closer to him (though this might seem counterintuitive), and most important, when others see us persevering in the faith in spite of all our trials and troubles, they see God’s power at work and are often moved to faith or greater faith themselves. God’s plan is so intricate and amazing, but we are privy to only bits and pieces sometimes.

Heavenly Father, please I beg of you for healing for Bernadette and her daughters. Please let there be nothing wrong in this latest biopsy for her one daughter. We know that we glorify you when we endure faithfully in our suffering. We know the miracles you perform in our lives in times like these when we try to hang on waiting upon your answer. But just like when your Son Jesus prayed in Gethsemane, and the cup doesn’t pass, it doesn’t make it easy on us. Please keep Bernadette and her daughters mindful that the sum total of their suffering (and mine and that of all others we could pray for here) pales in comparison to the glory we will experience in your presence for all eternity where there will be no more suffering, sorrow, loss, death, illness, strife, sin, etc. I ask this in Jesus’ name, calling upon his mother and ours Mary and all the angels and saints to pray for them and their needs in this time. Amen.

Steve,

Thank you for such a beautiful prayer. Yes I will also pray for your heart. I understand that our sufferings on this earth are nothing in comparison to our Lord’s suffering.

My discouragement comes from over that past 18 months my youngest had cancer and all the others have some serious health issues also.

I pray that God’s will be done, although it is difficult at times to understand and I know that many others are suffering greatly. I do try to offer up everything to Him.

Again thank you for your response.

God Bless

Bernadette

Prayers and best wishes for you ard your family.May.Our Lady The Health of the Sick, pray for you.As I understand, a mother or father would rather suffer a thousand cuts, rather than see their children suffer. The Pieta in Rome reminds us of the reality that this does not happen. As Our Lady said to St.Bernadette,“I will not promise you happiness in this life!”

If you do not have a Green Scapular near you or better still in your purse, car etc.do so.Whilst it is so powerful in the conversion of sinners,it’s healing properties are well founded.Especially when combined with this prayer and trust and confidence in it’s powers.(a free gift from Our Blessed Mother)

Immacula Heart of Mary, pray for us (Bernadette & family),now and at the hour of our daeth.Amen.

Praying for Carla:

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen.

I think that God must be delighted with your faithfulness in your seemingly-endless serous family trials.
Loving God please carry this good and humble woman through her many trials.
Please guard and protect her and her girls from all danger especially right now, Carla.

Isaiah says, “I was thinking: ‘I have toiled in vain, I have exhausted myself for nothing.’ And all the while my cause was with God, my reward with my God.” [Isaiah 49:3-4]

“Happy the person who stands firm when trials come. He has proved himself, and will win the prize of life, the crown that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” [James 1:12]
“Through your faith, God’s power will guard you until the salvation which has been prepared is revealed…to bear being plagued by all sorts of trials; so that, when Jesus Christ is revealed, your faith will have been tested and proved like gold.” [1Peter 1:5-7]

“Be calm, but vigilant, because your enemy the devil is prowling round like a roaring lion…Stand up to him, strong in faith and in the knowledge that your brothers all over the world are suffering the same things. You will only have to suffer only for a little while: the God of all grace who called you to eternal glory in Christ will see that all is well again: He will confirm, strengthen and support you. His power lasts for ever and ever. Amen.” [1Peter 5: 8-11]

“Console yourself with the Lord’s promise to repay ‘twice over with blessing’ for all we have suffered.” [Zechariah 9:12]

“Yes, the troubles which are soon over…train us for a weight of eternal glory which is out of all proportion to them.” [1Corinthians 4:17]

Therefore, “be patient…until the Lord’s coming. Think of a farmer, how patiently he waits for the precious fruit of the ground until it has the autumn rains and the spring rains. [James 5:7]

Lord, may Carla receive all the graces she needs including the grace of perseverance. May you, O Lord, who are most merciful grant Carla the strength and courage she needs to endure faithfully whatever suffering you allow her to suffer. May she not have cancer, if this is your will for her. Amen.
