Prayers needed for Jade Goody

Please pray for Jade Goody and others who are in the last stages of cancer.

Please also pray for my younger brother, Colum who’s heavy drinking and irresponsible selfish behaviour, has recently made him homeless.

He has managed to find himself somewhere to live, but has yet to accept that he and he alone, is responsible for his current situation; and that he does have a drink problem for which he needs help.

I know that we are not the only ones with this problem in the family, but believe me he has really being pushing the family’s tolerence to the limit during the last couple of months.

Father, in Jesus’ name, please ease the suffering of those who are in the final stages of cancer. Please draw their hearts to You. Please comfort and support their families.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Father we place Cerys’ brother in Your care. Pleas give him honesty and healing, and please heal his life and those whom he has pained.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the Divine power of God, cast into hell satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

St. Peregrine, as a Humble Servant of Mary, you experienced human weakness and the pain and suffering of sickness. Knowing that medicine and human knowledge have limits, we pray for all those involved in the medical profession, that they may be a true source of healing and comfort for all people. Like you, we also turn to God in our suffering. Just as Jesus reached out and touched you with His healing hand, we pray for Jade Goody, that she may be strengthened in body and spirit, and cured of her illness through Jesus Christ by your intercession. In gratitude, we pray for the people of the world that they will come to know you, St. Peregrine, and the Love that God has for each of them. Amen.

St. Monica, please pray for this person and their family.
 
I will be praying the chaplet of Divine Mercy for Jade today.

Dear Lord, Please ease the suffering of Jade Goody as she reaches the final stage of her illness. Comfort and reassure her, and give strength to her and her family. Please welcome her home into your Kingdom when the time comes. Amen

I’ve found this thread very moving. I think I’d fallen into the worldly trap of viewing Jade’s story as a bit of a circus, and had forgotten the reality that she is a child of God.

I was happy to read that Jade, along with her two little sons, were baptised just recently.
Lord, please look after your daughter Jade in her suffering and be there to strengthen her, and her family. Please welcome her into the joy of eternal life, when the time comes for her to depart.
