Hi everyone. Am going to try and quit alcohol for November for the holy souls and maybee for good if I can manage. I drink far too much and realize i have a huge problem. Any prayer or encouragement would be very welcome. Thanks.

Realizing you have a problem is the first step to recovery from it. Congratulations on being strong enough to admit your addiction and for wanting to break it. :hug1:
(My father is an alcoholic, so I’m familiar with this.) Keep praying, and find an AA meeting NOW. 👍

Lord Jesus, please hear the prayers of your child, who needs your help in resisting the temptation of alcohol. Help free him from the demon of alcoholism. Help him to reach sobriety, to stay sober, and please reassure him during difficult times that you are always with him. Thank you for your unfailing love, Amen.

Praying very hard for you to overcome this. Others have done it and you can too. My father was a heavy drinker until the age of 50 and he quit cold turkey and never had a drink the rest of his life which ended at age 70.

Please persevere and ask the Holy Spirit to help you.

:gopray2: Hail Mary…

Wow!! This is AWESOME!! Good for you!!! I will be praying for you to have the strength and courage of our Lord! With God you and do ALL things!

It might also help you if you offer up this suffering up to our Lord for reparation of sins. When I am going through something unpleasant or some form of suffering I try to remember to offer it up to our Lord for the conversion of someone or for the sins of the world and that helps me feel like it is not all being done in vain. Hope that helps. God Bless you.

Here is a little quote from Padre Pio that I like:
"Always humble yourself lovingly before God and man, because God speaks to those who are truly humble of heart, and enriches them with His gifts." Padre Pio

Praying for you…
Hail Mary, Full of Grace,The Lord is with Thee, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen.

Good Job. The first step is acknowledging you have a problem. I strongly recommend going to AA meetings. I do. This is the only sure way that I know of to quit and stay quit. AA with God’s help.

Lord Jesus Christ,
Incarnate Son of God,
for our salvation
You willed to be born in a stable,
to endure poverty, suffering and sorrow
throughout Your life,
and finally to experience the bitter Death of the Cross.
I beg you to say to Your father on behalf of
Padre Pio,
“Father, heal him of this addiction”
AMEN

wow thanks for all your nice words and prayers. Will b sticking to my guns from now on, I know that the moment of tempation is paradoxically when you feel least tempted, rather than when you are desperate. Thats my experience anyway.

hope you all have a good weekend and all your intentions are answered.

Will keep you in prayer…perseverance against all comers is one of the secrets of success…

Boy thats a rough road, but you took the first biggest step. Saying you have a problem. Now you get a good sponsor, and they’ll help you threw it. Way to great job, i’m praying for you.
Mary
