Well I always need prayers. First of all, I need prayers that I get accepted into a good Catholic College to transfer to that doesn’t completely associate with Vatican Council II. I want to continue to get a good solid Catholic Education.

Second of all, I’m in a personal emotional dilemma. I won’t give too much details but if you look in the Vocation section of the forum, you’ll see that I’ve more or less had my heart set on joining this particular Order in the future. But I’m still questioning my Vocation because there are so many wonderful guy friends that I’m blessed to have in my life. And I’ve occasionally had crushes on them but they either have girlfriends or (I’m going to be blunt here) they are not interested in women (I’m a theatre person so I have associated with guys like that, I’m sorry). But it does hurt knowing I can’t have them. So I’m thinking a lot about it and I’ve never even had one boyfriend. I am only 19 but I feel like time is going too fast. If God doesn’t want me to have a boyfriend and get married, I guess this is His way of telling me. I can’t see into the future though so I’m just praying a lot about it. I’m praying that He reveals His plan for me soon.

Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Dear Ally, nineteen seems very old not to have a boyfriend, on the other hand it is very young. Not to have had a boyfriend yet isn’t necessarily an indication of vocation. It could mean you don’t have, or convey, the confidence that give others confidence to involve you in a relationship…or something of the sort.
For any vocation we need to develop in order to serve and function best with others.

I’ll pray for your needs and intentions, but you do say that you have set your heart on a particular Order, so will include in my prayers that you are able to discern how much it is you and how much it is God whose heart is set on your going into the Order.
May God give you peace and clarity

If you do enter an Order a close relationship is at least a complication/dilemma you don’t have at this time. May God help you to blossom in any wholesome way He desires for you
Ally, may God and wisdom guide you. 🙂

I appreciate the kindness. I think the jealousy is what’s destroying me. I genuinely want to be happy for my friends who have relationships but my envy gets in the way. I don’t want anything to ruin their relationships and I don’t want to interfere with it. I don’t know what God wants for me. I don’t know if He’s got someone for me or if He really wants me to be a Sister. I’ve witnessed many divorces including my own parents and that does scare me. I am open to whatever God wants for me and I just want to be happy. I’m not praying for a boyfriend, I’m just praying for patience and that God will reveal His plans for me soon and that I’ll be able to accept it.

Praying for your discernment. May God grant you wisdom and a good spiritual director to help you in discerning your true vocation. May you do well in your classes (if you are still studying in school) and get into a good orthodox Catholic university or college. May you be happy for your friends who are in relationships and not allow jealosy any part in your life. May the Lord continue to bless and protect you. Amen.

Thanks everyone. I have had 2 emotional breakdowns in the last 2 days, one of which was triggered because of a picture I found on my friends Facebook of her boyfriend who happens to be a guy I’ve got a crush on. Crying over a picture is clearly not a good sign but I’m trying to hang in there. I’m still praying. And fortunately I gave up Facebook for Lent.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
