Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This Friday, June 23, is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There are many sites on the internet giving the history of the feast; some with prayers and devotions to the Sacred Heart, but perhaps some who read this post can join me in simply taking time to ponder before a crucifix – at home or Church or wherever we can find some silence to look at Jesus – His Heart pierced for Love – He emptied Himself (cf Phil 2:7)

Perhaps this Friday, we can ask Jesus: “What have I not given You, Who gave all for me?” How can I offer reparation for all my sins and the sins of the world? His answer may be different for each one, but I believe He will answer – if we really listen. Our prayers of reparation may not be spoken words but He will hear us in the depths of our hearts and give us grace to say “Yes” and give all to Him.

Dear abinjoy,

Thanks to you, abinjoy, there is now one reply! I really don’t mind so much not getting replies when I know some have at least “viewed” the post. If you look at my profile page and check “statistics” on threads I’ve started, this post had 153 views. So I’m encouraged that 153 may have read it. Though none replied except you, some may have been blessed in prayer.

Praying before a crucifix, taking time to ponder God’s love for us, can help us grow in our love for Him and open our hearts – even as we see His Heart pierced and emptied – so that we may learn to love as He loved us.

There is a certain sadness, however, that no one seemed willing to say they might try to ponder before a crucifix – but God knows – and He is the One Who is Most Important. :sad_yes:
