Prayers of Thanksgiving and Continued Prayers for Addict Seeking Treatment

My sister-in-law has finally agreed to enter a treatment facility for drug and alcohol abuse. She has been in our family for 7 years and it became obvious early on that she had a serious problem. Please pray that she’s willing to do what needs to be done in this program and that my brother will be able to have the tough love needed to help her through.

Venerable Father Alfred Pampalon, here is my prayer to you, listen to my cry, come to my help, obtain for me the favors I desire. You are well known as the protector of people who are suffering in body, mind and spirit.

You show special compassion for alcohol and drug addicts. You have freed so many people from their dependencies. Free me also, I beg you, dear Father Alfred, and free those people I recommend to you, especially members of my family.

I come to you with confidence. I pray for myself and for all those who are dear to me. Come also to the assistance of the Church and of the whole world. Amen.

Lord, in your servant, Matt Talbot you have given us a wonderful example of triumph over addiction, of devotion to duty, and of lifelong reverence of the Holy Sacrament. May his life of prayer and penance give us courage to take up our crosses and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Father, if it be your will that your beloved servant should be glorified by your Church, make known by your heavenly favours the power he enjoys in your sight. I am very saddened to report that my sister-in-law checked out of rehab early and is back to square one. It is really disappointing that my brother went to get her. He had told her before that she needed to complete treatment or he would leave her.

Continued prayers for this situation, and for all who are suffering from addiction, are most appreciated. God bless you all.
