my 15 yearold daughter has been singing in our children’s choir and most recently adult choir. today at church there was a 25th anniversary mass for a local priest. my daughter was in the choir and was suppose to sing the responsorial psalm. Mass was beautiful. When it was over, my daughter told me that she was never going back to the choir again. When I asked what happened, she told me that the woman in charge of the choir told her that she sang some part of it wrong. My daughter has worked w/ this woman fo the last 6 years. I told my daughter that maybe the choir leader was just stressed because of the special occasion. I later tried to reason w/ her but she insisted that she is never going back. my daughter has gotten snippy at times w/ this woman, but never had an attitude like this. Please pray for her to reconsider. She sings beautifully and I told her that she is doing this for God, not the woman from choir. I am very distraught about the whole situation. ;😦

thank you all. My daughter agreed a little reluctantly, but she said she will give it one more try. please continue to pray for her that all will be smoothed over. my daughter is a good- hearted child, but she can be moody, as all teens are. My older daughter was a piece of cake compared to this younger one. She is my thorn, but I do love her dearly.

I am so glad to hear that she has changed her mind. Beautiful voices in praise and worship give Glory to God. I pray she has a long life of worship through her songs. I will pray for you, your daughter and also the lady. Tell your daughter not to fret over the opinions of others but to hold fast the Love of our Lord as I have no doubt He adored her song. For if we were already perfect we would not need our Lord Jesus Christ to save us. What may be a wrong verse to the lady was more than likely perfect in the eyes of God. God Bless you all.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Our God, please lead the woman in charge of the choir to be more respectful and sensitive in how she deals with members of the choir; and please help this talented girl to be more peaceful and resilient in her emotions,
so that in such emotional injury isn’t repeated.
Thank You for this change of heart for the best.

I’m glad she decided to give it another shot. 🙂 I will pray that she won’t have another negative experience anytime soon. :signofcross:

As a fellow mother of a 15 year old, you have my empathy. Will pray for your daughter.

It’s very tough to stay calm when we see our kids have been wronged by someone. I know exactly how that feels. I pray you and your family can remain calm and that your daughter not give up on serving God with her singing talents…May God bless her…

I’ll pray for your daughter right now.
I completely understand as I had 3 girls. One was easy going and great, #2 was never going to accept any criticism from anyone about anything. And #3 bows down like an injured puppy. They are all different.

It really wasn’t the choir director’s fault. My daughter thought that she could sight read the music. Her timing was off a little. she said she knew she made a mistake, but I think she was embarrassed because the choir director told her about it. Sometimes, my daughter has a hard time taking criticism. She really beats herself up, though we do not compare our children.Child no. 2 emulates her older sister who participated in all kinds of choral festivals in high school. I think she wants to be just like her. We even deal w/ her as far as grades go too. Big sister was salutatorian and so far child no. 2 is ranked second in her class also. we do not pressure her for these grades. child no. 2 does this to herself since she was little.( At birthday parties she would not play musical chairs because she didn’t want to lose.) I always tell my children that as long as they have the brains to be in the top 10 in their class, I expect that, but I and my husband do not pressure them in any way. I pray for my younger daughter every day. I really worry about her sometimes.
thank you for your prayers and concern. please continue to keep her in your daily prayers
