I selfishly ask for your time and thoughts in prayers. Ive been having trouble adjusting at my college, and now Im worried I cant transfer till next year due to semester/quarter conflicts.

Im also having bad relationship trouble.

Im also having trouble hearing the lord answer when I pray.

thank you.

Praying for you, from part of Psalm 32 (33) from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

The Lord looks down from the heavens and sees all the children of men.
From his dwelling-place he looks upon all who inhabit the earth.
He moulded each one of their hearts, he understands all that they do.

The king will not be saved by his forces; the abundance of his strength will not set the strong man free.
Do not trust a horse to save you, whatever its swiftness and strength.
For see, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, upon those who trust in his mercy,
hoping he will save their souls from death and their bodies from hunger.

Our souls praise the Lord, for he is our help and our protector,
for our hearts rejoice in him, and we trust in his holy name.
Lord, show us your loving kindness, just as we put our hope in you.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Rhyli, it is absolutely not “selfish” to ask for prayer. We are part of the Body of Christ; we are all here to help each other! 🙂

Think of it this way: if you had a friend who was very ill, you’d probably bring her meals, do errands for her, help with laundry or chores, or whatever you could to ease her through the bad time. What if she told you that it was “selfish” of her to ask for help with these things? You’d probably say something like: , right?

So let your brothers and sisters on CAF be here for you now, when you need us :grouphug:

I’ll gladly pray for you. Also, here is a prayer which I hope will bring you comfort:

PRAYER FOR TRUST

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

Your intentions will be in my prayers.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

God bless you †

God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Author of glory, grant me spiritual wisdom and revelation. Enlighten the eyes of my mind and with a deep knowledge of you and your holy will. May I understand of what nature is the hope to which you call me, what is the wealth of the splendor of your inheritance among the Saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of your power toward me. Christ’s Peace. Please know it takes courage to ask for prayer and there is nothing selfish about asking. That is what we are here for.
