My 4 year old is just coming off a several hour middle of the night tantrum and I feel so pushed to the limit with him. He’s very strong-willed and requires about 95%+ consistency just to know that yes, in fact, I do mean what I say, and of course he needs to continually test it.
When he feels like it, he can be a very sweet and loving kid, but right now he’s mad that he’s not in charge of the universe. I figure it’s better for him to learn that now at 4, but gah. His 2 year old brother is much more easygoing and has figured out quick that life is better when you listen to Mommy and accept discipline without upping the ante.
I know that what my older son needs is continued consistency and loving correction to get out of the cycle of bratdom, but it’s sapping a lot of strength. So all your prayers are appreciated!
