I know I’ve probably worn out my welcome asking for advice and prayers for my Endometriosis. :o All I ask (beg really 😊) is for more prayers. The pain is keeping me bedridden almost, I’m having to give up my job, I can no longer have sex with my husband or do much to enjoy life. I don’t even know if I will make it to church this weekend. It has absolutely ruined my life. Please beg God to spare me this agony and grant me health and healing once again. I’m so afraid this all is proving how mad He is at me and how much He doesn’t like my marriage to a Protestant. (I know it’s crazy to think but it’s really there.) So my scrupulousity is flaring up too. It is horrible. Thank you and God bless you!

I am so sorry. 😦 I’ll be offering up the rest of my day for you.

It’s good that you can realize that those thoughts are just that–scrupulosity. Don’t pay them any mind. When I’m being scrupulous or obsessive over something, it helps me sometimes to say out loud “That isn’t true, and I’m not going to think about that. Get out of my head!” when those thoughts pop up. It brings it out into the open air, so to speak.

I seem to remember you were planning on exploring other areas of treatment for the endo–do you have an appointment with a doctor to figure out a plan for it?

Peace and healing to you!

Thank you Ubi! :hug1:

It’s a long story but I’m still at the Napro Doctor. My husband really likes him, doesn’t want to use ABC pills, and my good friend kind of talked me out of the alternative. I’m in limbo right now. I really think it’s best to stick with this doctor (for many reasons) it’s just SO slow going with him. And I’m in a TON of pain.

ETA: He’s willing to re-operate on me to remove the Endo on the intestines, but it will be a serious open abdominal surgery that will be 6-8wks of recovery for someone in good health. It also poses risk to intestinal infection, bleeding, etc. I know in my mind why he is trying to avoid it, but the pain in the now is just excruciating.

We’re not supposed to offer medical advice, but that all sounds really dire.

I wonder what a conventional OB/GYN would say about taking those risks for the likely benefits…

I guess only a small percent of Endometriosis patients (I think it said 27%) get it on their bowels. Supposedly the Endo pain will stick around, even with a full Hysterectomy and Ovary removal if they don’t get it off the bowel first. Ugh!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

So far, they all suggested ABC pills. I’ve seen like 5 in my life, not including the new Napro doctor. :o Only one suggested I could possibly have a serious underlying health issue like Endometriosis. 🤷

Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers. :grouphug:

I am so very sorry that you are in such pain, my dear. 😦

Prayers said for you. Hang in there. :hug1:

God bless you!

Praying for you.

But I must confess I am very surprised that you are continuing with this treatment plan, given your history of mediocre success with it and the frustration expressed in your previous post.

I talked myself out of it. :o I get very scrupulous sometimes. And I don’t want God anymore upset with me than it seems He already is.

This is a nonsense comment and I believe you know this on an intellectual level.

Scrupulosity makes people imagine sin where there is none, and that is what you are doing here (seemingly egged on by others who lack proper understanding too).

You should choose the medical treatment you believe will be best for you, based on the best medical advice. But at the moment you are unnecessarily limiting your potential medical options based on a misunderstanding of the morality of them.

I agree. The Church is aware of the complexity of medical treatment and understands the need for legitimate medical care.

Get a full and objective medical evaluation done to determine the most medically sound treatment, then discuss the options recommended holistically with your spiritual director. I did this with my PCOS and tumour treatment–I discussed the options with my priest, and he consulted with a Catholic bioethicist–and I moved forward, confident that I was doing what was best for both my body AND soul on the basis of their feedback.
