Prayers requested for my missing/ possibly dead friend and his family

Yesterday I learned that a friend of mine went missing early this week. Based on all the facts, there is a strong possibility that he is dead, although this has not been definitely confirmed yet by the responders carrying out the search/ recovery effort.

I would like to request prayers that he is soon found and also, in the event he is indeed found deceased, for the repose of his soul. Also for strength, comfort and closure for his family. Thank you.

I just wanted to thank everyone who prayed for my friend last week. I can share a little more information now as his family has released it.
Unbeknown to many of us who were his friend, he had a severe life-threatening addiction and was struggling with sobriety. On the night he went missing, he relapsed, had an argument with the family member with whom he was living, and took off into the night. His family went after him and tried to find him to no avail. A couple hours later a man matching his description was seen struggling and calling for help in a major river nearby. Rescuers tried to save him but he was swept away and they have not been able to recover the body (which, considering the river, may be permanently non-recoverable).

He was a very nice person and this was a shock. I have been seeing him a couple times a year at social gatherings for 10 years and also communicating online but I had no idea he was in such dire straits. He had many, many friends locally and online and we all wish he had reached out to someone rather than this happening.

Thank you again for your prayers. I wish my first thread on this forum hadn’t had to be this. I will pray for all of you in return.

Dear Jesus and Blessed Mother Mary, I humbly pray for all who posted in this thread, for blessings on them and their families and for their special intentions. And again for my deceased friend, in Jesus’ Name, may God bring him and all others who struggle and die while battling the demons of addiction into Eternal Light and help them and their families find peace. Amen.
 
Thank you for that sad update. Sometimes we just never know what is going on in other people’s lives until it is too late. And not always for lack of trying to know. Some people are very good at putting on false faces or keeping secrets.

I pray that your friend has found Peace with Our Lord that he may have never known during his lifetime. Prayers also for his family and friends.
