I wanted to thank everyone again for all the prayers for my friend.
His body was recovered from the river a week or so ago, so it was confirmed that he was the man seen in the river.
His funeral is today and he will be buried with military honors as he was a US Air Force veteran.
Since this happened a few of his friends and family including myself have received some indications (in my case I believe it was message from God) that he is saved. Also, if he had intended suicide, first of all he was not in his right mind as he was drunk when he disappeared, and second, the people who tried to save him from the river reported that he was yelling for help, so if he had jumped in deliberately (as opposed to slipping and falling in, which also could have happened) he definitely had second thoughts before he passed away, which is some comfort. I’ll be having the Gregorian Masses said for him anyway, just in case.
Thank you for caring and praying…this has rattled a lot of us, many of whom were not aware he was having problems because we live at a distance and he was not publicizing his business.
