Hi brothers and sisters.

I feel kind of silly asking for this prayer as I skim some of the other prayer requests on here, but I decided to post anyway.

I do not know if I am in a phunk or just having a tough few weeks or what, but lately my toddler has been a serious hand full. Everytime she throws ANOTHER a fit or gets up AGAIN in the middle of the night, I am tempted to go back to abc. I can not handle another baby mentally or emotionally right now.

I have tried to do NFP myself (no classes are offered here), and it is practically impossible for me to read my signs, even temps fluctuations. I feel like my Dh and I are playing Russian roulette.

All though I think some forms of abc are grave sins, I am not convinced that barrier methods are. But I am convinced that the Church holds Christ’s teaching authority, and I love Jesus and His Church and will not go against it. So please pray for me to trust in God’s plans for me and to have more faith and less anxiety.

Thank you so much.

For your prayer request:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

God Bless You

I’ve been married almost 13 years, I always thaught that I was gonna be one of those catholic moms that had a big family, like the rest of the women in my family. Well…surprise, surprise:blush: , the baby never came. I’m really fine with it:) , but there is this big space around me in life, that feels strange:shrug: . If it is the Lords’ will, that I live into senior years, they could be very lonely and God forbid I fall sick or in a hospital. I will completely depend on the Lords’ Mercy.
I have seen how hard moms have it, I’m not trying to make you feel guilty, for everyone knows the job of a mom is the hardest. But it is not easy to care for a teasure, it is not easy to form the future pillars of our church. The Lord has given you a big job and He will give you the tools to accomplish it. Look at motherhood as something that is not yours, but a job you are doing for the Lord (He is the Boss, you the manager:thumbsup: ) and a job you are doing to ensure that our church has future solid pillars.
Moms also need TLC, so see if you can arrange with a responsible family member to care for the babies a little while and maybe you can go on a date with daddy or the beauty salon:D .

Saint Rita of Cascia, I pray you intercede for this loving mother, that she can find the peace and inner joy to accomplish every day, the work of the Lord. Amen

Praying for your intentions…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying very hard for your peace of mind. Hang in there, all the mom’s I know go through this at one time or another.

Praying for you…

I understand your frustration and mostly your exhaustion.

Make sure you talk to your priest about this entire situation. He can give the best advice!

God Bless
Pam

Mary Catherine:

It’s not silly to as people to pray for you about something such as this - esp. as it’s denying you sleep and taking away your sanity.

Have you thought of talking to or corresponding with some of the women on the forum who’ve had children? I think they could tell you why your “young-in” is throwing fits & give you some ideas as to how to handle them without losing your mind.

Have you thought of talking to a therapist? You just might have something known as Post Partum Depression… It’s something that can be treated, and its nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. And, If you can find a therapist who won’t question Catholic Doctrine, therapy can be a Godsend.

Have you also thought about talking at length with your parish priest and telling him that you and your husband really need instruction on Natural Family Planning? I think you might want to copy your post here and show it to him and send a copy to your Bishop’s office with a request for the training. It’s their job to take care of your spiritual welfare, and providing classes. Training on NFP would seem to be part of that responsibility.

Please let us know how that goes.

I also agree with the Sisters who’ve suggested talking to others in your parish and human families and asking for some help with this young “bundle of joy/energy”? Young kids always seem to have more energy than we do, and it’s not a bad idea to get some help with housework, chores, babysitting, etc., and doing so doesn’t mean that you’re a bad wife, mother, homemaker or whatever - It just means that you’re as human as the rest of us.

I read a study where even some big corporations are having their employees “power nap” for 30 min. in the afternoon because it makes them more efficient afterwards and later in the week. And, Presidents Truman, Jefferson & Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin & Thomas Edison all took naps in the afternoon. Again, you might need to get someone to watch your “young-in” during the afternoon for you to do this if he won’t go to sleep himslef during this time…

A 30 min. nap won’t cure the 2-3 am feeding calls, but they will help you to make up some of the sleep you’ve been losing.

I hope this helps.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael
