“To give all I had to give and be rejected by the one I love. That still hurts.”

Your quote here is quite interesting…I couldn’t help but think of our Lord and His love for us. You can bet he understands and knows how it feels to be rejected. Wasn’t He…isn’t He many times by so many people and yet He loves us so much!!! Cast Your cares on Him for He alone knows your hearts ache and needs. He alone loves you more than anyone on this earth could!!! Trust His grace to work a wonder in your life through this. I know it is a hard path, but it truely is the best path:) I continue in prayer for you:gopray2:

Hi mlz,
I hadn’t thought about it, at the time, but it was an interesting choice of words.
Now looking back on it, You are right on target.
God loves us all, and He is still rejected by many.
Thank you for your prayers!
God Bless you always. 🙂

tbcrawford 244rocket, and mlz,
Thank you for your prayers. You are right, I have been given very wise advice on this site. The prayers of all these good people have been a big help to me.
tbcrawford, I hope you are right, when you say I will find another, and love stronger.
I really thought that was what was happening with Tami and I.
I opened my heart to her, more than I had ever done before, with anyone else. Maybe that is the biggest part of the hurt I feel. 🤷 To give all I had to give and be rejected by the one I love. That still hurts.
I truely hope there is “the right lady” out there somewhere. I am almost 48 years old and apparently still haven’t found her.
Sometimes it feels like I’m running out of time, to love, marry and start a family.
I just have to keep my faith that God will one day introduce me to my partner in life.
Thank you again for your prayers. They have made a difficult time a little easier to get through.

God Bless you !
Hi Richard
Pray and place your trust in God.He has a Divine Plan for each of us.We do not know what He
has planned for you just as i do not.I have a brother who is your age, never been married had much heart-ache in romantic break ups.He now has a gf and we as a family hope this works for them both.My youngest son is going through much heart-ache right now with his ex gf.
Only God knows what is right for us to lead us to Him.
I truly believe in my heart you WILL meet the right one for you.My father married was nearly 40 when he married my mother and went on to have 6 of us!! As i say one of my brothers is your age & never been married yet! I continue ot hold you in my prayers God bless

PRAYER FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LIFE PARTNER

God,

You made men and women to be with each other.

So the Bible says.

Help me to love myself the way You love me.

Help me in all my relationships with others.

And then, help me to know who the right one for me is.

And, if things don’t work out with that someone, give me strength to get past the pain and, filled with Your love, lead me to love again.

Thanks for listening, God. Amen.

PRAYER FOR ACCEPTING US AS WE ARE
…Help each of us, Lord, to feel good about ourselves.

Teach us to recognize and appreciate our assets and talents and to avoid letting ourselves become discouraged by our weaknesses and limitations.

Let us realize that – because we are human – we are not perfect, we all have faults, we all make mistakes, we all do foolish and embarrassing things.

Let us learn how to forgive ourselves for our mistakes and our weaknesses.

Let us learn to spend more time doing the best we can with what we have and less time worrying about what we can’t do or don’t have.

When we find it hard to have faith in ourselves, Lord, let us know and feel that you have faith in us.

We ask you, Lord, not only to love us when we find it difficult to love ourselves, but teach us how to view and value ourselves as the unique, precious individuals we are.

Let us learn to feel secure in your sight.

Let us learn to feel joy in knowing that you care about every one of us, that you love us just as we are. Amen.

Prayers continuing for you:crossrc: We are all wounded healers for each other. One of my favorite verses (ok, I have more than one!) is in 2 Corinthians 1:3 “Praise be to the Lord and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows…”

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hi Richard

Sorry to read of your heartbreak . I too have suffered heartbreak when i thought that i would be settled into married life and start a family . The reality check was that yes i got married and had 4 beautiful daughters but sadly the marriage fell apart due to domestic violence and i am now divorced . It breaks my heart to have ended up a divorced single parent and the shame i feel as a Catholic is sometimes unbearable . I have now been on my own for nearly 7 years and tho sometimes i feel lonely i do enjoy being a single parent because sadly my ex never wanted children and does’nt see his children ever .I am seeking annulment as i have very good grounds but who will want to take on me and four kids?
Please know you are in my prayers and i sincerely hope and pray you meet a lovely catholic woman who will be a great wife to you and you have many children.
God bless

Dear OP,
You will get through this by the grace of God. Broken hearts are horribly devastating. The best advice I can give is for you to fill each day with activities, work, etc. and especially prayer. Keep up with the sacraments. Focus on LIFE. The Holy Spirit will comfort you.
My prayers are with you.

To tbcrawford, mlz, musician and kellyshero ,
Thank you all for your prayers. I look forward to hearing from you and reading your thoughts.
As hard as this experience has been to go through, it has been made easier by wonderful people such as you.
I keep all of you in my prayers each day. I hope that God will Bless each of you, as He has done for me. He brought each of you into my life, when I was at my lowest. I thank Him for that blessing.
Kellyshero- I wish you happiness with your children. You will find a good man, who will love you and your children. They are still out there! 🙂 Thank you for your prayers and wishes.
I hope to meet a woman as nice as you.

I look forward to the day, that God brings into my life, the woman who will be my wife and the mother of my children. I guess even at 48, I still have a chance to meet that special lady.
God willing!

God Bless each and every one of you! You have renewed my hope and helped save my life. Thank You!🙂

Will continue to keep you in prayer but won’t have access to internet for awhile.:crossrc:
In His love,

Bless you dear Richard. You are clearly a good generous faithful man…now if i wasn’t happily married(lol)!!! Seriously though you WILL really meet the right one for you.Where might you meet the woman of your dreams? Church is a good palce to start or a church function where relatives or friends from outside of you parish may attend whom you have not met!
What are your personal interests?Do you like sports/outdoor activities going for walks playing golf…i don’t know a multitide of activities.I love quizzes and so did my future husband. We met and formed a friendship before we began dating when we were on rival quiz teams. He was a member of a large circle of friends and so was i.We were friends for a couple of years then dated the rest is history.I wish you well & keep you in my daily prayers that you find a wonderful woman who will love you & compliment you with your values.God bless my friend

Hebrews 13:1-2
Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

Right now, Richard, I’m pretty sure you go through waves of sorrow, when the bottom drops out and the wound is as fresh as ever. It takes a while. Even when you think you’re recovering it’s human to still have those moments sometimes.

Because my son was so deeply wounded, he was very slow to respond to the certainty of his now-fiancée that she had found in him the person that she had sought in vain for years. She’d say whimsically, “How’s that friendship thing going for you, T…” It made him laugh. He held out for a while but he loves her very much now. Another son was physically ill for a week after he lost his long-term love, and only family support and music got him through, “stopped me from going mad” he said…but now he too is married to someone. He trips over himself when he tries to convey how much their relationship means to him. After a few years they are still as delighted with each other.

It’s hard for you to imagine such possibilities. And even still, please God it will be Tami if this is best for you both.

The exes are still friends, in fact T’s ex was the first friend to congratulate him on his engagement!

Take good care of yourself. I’m glad you have loving family support.

May God bless you in time (but not too long away) with a very special lady who loves you as authentically as you love her.

Richard, if Tami hadn’t come back into your life for a while, you wouldn’t have friends in different part of the world praying for you, with such caring and concern…from different States of your nation, from England, Australia, and Trinidad! May God bless our prayers for you with great abundance. We’ll all know why when we meet in heaven! See you then! 🙂 Trishie

Hi Richard J

PLease keep on being positive because you sound like a lovely fella . Thanks for what you said about me and yes I too will be positive that I might meet someone one day !!
Never let this experince change you because you know what ? Its better to have given it all for Tami than to have kept back a part of yourself . This means that you are a kind , caring and genuine man . They are rare and it is Tami’s loss for disreguarding your love so selfishly . Shame on her !!
I will continue to pray for both you and Tami and you never Know what God’s answer will be ! Maybe to stay apart or maybe to get back together . He does after all work in mysterious ways !!
All of us out there care about you so don’t feel that you are alone .

God bless you

To tbcrawford, trishie and kellyshero,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I have been working some long hours, and didn’t have the ability to write back sooner.

Wow, I am flattered by your comments. Thank you.
Your thoughts about my feelings are right on target. I have good days and bad. But with your help, I am better than before.
I have to confess, I am no saint by any means - lol
But I truely believe in treating others as I would want to be treated. I have never intentionally tried to hurt anyone. The times I have hurt someone, have hurt me as well. Another lesson learned. Think twice, before action or speech- LOL
I try to live my faith on a daily basis. Not alway easy in todays world and in my line of work ( Jailer) - LOL
Your prayers and comments have really touched me. You have shown more love and concern for me, than I have ever experienced before. Thank you again.
I pray for each of you daily. May God keep you safe, healthy and happy.
God Bless each of you and your families!
Love Richard

Hi Richard it is good to hear from you. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.I have much hope for you to meet the right one for you!!God blessxx

Hi Richard hope things are going well for you.God bless

When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider:
God has made the one as well as the other…
Ecclesiastes 7:14

Therefore we do not lose heart.
though outwardly we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles
are achieving for us an eternal glory
that far outweighs them all.
2 Corinthians 4:16,17

Holy Spirit, come into Richard’s heart; draw it to Thee by Thy power, O my God, and grant him charity with filial fear. Preserve him, O ineffable Love, from every evil thought; warm him, inflame him with Thy dear love, and every pain will seem light to him.
