Prayers to save marriage & for a healthy baby

Dear Lord, please help Sol on this very important day, when she is to meet with her husband. With your help, Lord, allow Sol and her family to once again be reunited and loving towards one another. Please allow love to flow through both of their hearts upon seeing one another, and allow their unborn baby to experience the joy and love from both of the baby’s parents.

Holy Mother of God pray for Sol and her family.

Thank you so much for your prayers and continued support! I truly means very much to me. Dinner went okay, but he is still adamant about not moving back home and believes he might never be ready. However, he did agree to talk to my priest and attend Retrouvaille and Couples Clinic. Does anyone know anything about either therapy? Two or three Catholic priests recommended Retrouvaille. Does anyone else know of any other Catholic marriage counseling that has a good reputation and successful? My husband recommended separation therapy, but I declined because that is the opposite of marriage counseling, and that is NOT what I want. Please continue to pray for a reconciliation and for our baby. God bless!

Those are very hopeful signs. The Retrouvaille Retreats have been a marriage saver for
many couples. I’m not familiar with Couples Clinic, but after Retrouvaille, there are follow-
up meetings which can keep you on track.

 My husband has just informed me via phone that he will not attend the Retrouvaille weekend encounter which was scheduled for next weekend.  I cannot believe it!  We argued and I cried, said goodbye and hung up.  This is all so difficult for me, he would rather attend non counseling because he did want anyone telling him that he should stay married because of the  "Catholic Dogma".  Please advise me.

Jesus this man is apparently failing to genuinely love his wife and unborn child. Perhaps he is afraid of parenthood or the cost of fatherhood as against personal preferences, in which case he doesn’t know much about what love really is. He needs love and unselfishness in hs heart to be a husband and a father, Lord Jesus.
Please open his heart to love and appreciation.
Please give consolation and support to his sad and scared wife.
She needs peace, in any case, for her sake and the baby’s.
Jesus please do everything You can for them, and guide them in the most effective path.

Sol I am so sorry for you.You are being very brave & I wish I had the answers for you.Keep praying for The Lord to guide you whichever way is besy for you and your baby.Try talking to your priest for advice and try non religious counselling if the priest advises.God bless.

Sol, your husband needs to know that your attempt at saving your marriage is not primarly due to Cathoilc teaching, it is due to the fact that you love him and are having his baby. It is due to the fact that this baby needs both parents to be truly fulfilled in his / her life. It is because of the fact that you are both united as one family, and that is why, not because of Church teaching. The Catholic teaching on this matter exists because life necessitates the teaching to exist. As you can see, not following the teaching brings about pain and sorrow and can break apart an entire family. You’re not following the Church teaching because the Church tells you to, you’re following it because life dictates you to follow it. If your husband sees this reality, he may look at this differently. Instead of looking at the Church as an entity that proclaims something contrary to his current desires, he might see that the Church teaching merely echos the teachings of life that we all should abide by in order to live out a happy and productive life. The Catholic Church teaches, just as the Bible does, that no man shall separate what God has joined as one (St. Matthew 19:6, St. Mark 10:9).

I will continue to pray for you, Sol, for your baby, and for your husband’s conversion. I will continue to pray that the Holy Spirit works within him and bring about the gifts of the Spirit which can convert the most hardened of individuals. I will continue to pray for your reconciliation and for love to radiate from all three of you for the rest of your life.

The Retrouville weekend is really good about not making non-catholic spouses feel un-
comfortable. They don’t push the participants to attend any religious part. Most of
the “discussions” are guided, but take place between the spouses and not in the
group. I think your spouse would not find that a problem. Even if the parties go on
to divorce, the weekend is supposed to help the relationship be less confrontive,
especially if there are children involved. Hope this helps and that he’ll give it a try.

Thanks for your continued, heartfelt prayers! My husband has agreed to meet with my priest and to attend non religious marriage counseling. Please pray that God can get through to my husband via my priest. Also, I hope he does not cancel like he did Retrouvaille. Please keep praying for us and for our baby. Thanks & God bless!
 
Holy Spirit please inspire Sol’s husband with strong desire to heal and remain faithful in the marriage. Please help Sol and her husband to reach clear understanding of what is needful for the marriage to survive and flourish, whatever adjustments eachs needs to make while remaining faithful to God and the Sacraments
