Lord, please guide AugustineFan toward something that will give meaning and purpose to his free time. Fill his hours not with drink, but with things that will bring You Glory. Lead him to something greater than where he presently is at, so that he may remain sober and a good father and husband to his family. He has taken the first step in realizing he has a problem, now I ask you to place opportunities for goodness in his path and help him use his free time to become more devoted to You. I ask this through the intercession of Your earthly father, St, Joseph, and Your Most Holy Mother, Mary.

My advice to you is to find other things to do. But I have to say this - most people, when bored, do not start drinking. I think you should try an AA group, actually several, and see if it doesn’t help you. It has helped more alcoholics to stop drinking and the only requirement is that you have a desire to stop drinking (so you qualify). AA will teach you to focus on One Day At A Time. Today, or right now, you make the decision that you aren’t going to drink. You don’t worry about tomorrow, or the day after that, just right now. I am not sure why it works, but it does. And the support helps a lot. I don’t go to AA but I do go to Al-Anon, I have family members who were alcoholic. I know I could become an alcoholic but when I want to drink, I just tell myself, “Not now.”

Our Holy Father, may you open AugustineFan heart to your Holy Spirit, may he fell life in his heart behond the thoughts of what for him l8ife is. May he feel the way to You, may he feel that there is not another way if not the way to you since all the other ways are empty and at the end there is always a: and now what.
But in You there is peace, in You there is Love when we perceive danger for our psycological integrity, in you there is everything that breath alone without effort, in You there is our life.
Please Lord bless him and be merciful with him. May you give him corage to change.

Please blessed virgin pray with us for him, so that our prayer will be santified to be heard.
