My dear friend’s 27 year old son is currently hospitalized. The doctors don’t give much hope. He has a damaged heart and his liver, pancreas and kidneys are failing. He also has infection in his lungs and heart. This is all from years of drug abuse. Now that he is hospitalized, he is also in the middle of de-toxing. He is on a respirator, although they want to give him a trach.

Even through his years of addition, he always had some rudimentary faith, and praise God, he did receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.

He has a 7 year old daughter who has watched her father deteriorate and the little angel has begged him to get help.

We firmly believe that if he survives and spends a goodly amount of time in rehab after the hospital, that his life will become a living testimony to the glory of God.

Please pray with us, friends and family, that Rico survive to be a good father to his child, and good son to his mother, and living witness to God’s mercy, healing and grace.

Thank you.

*“I wish that my heart could beat, that I could live and breathe only for Jesus, I wish that my tongue could utter no other name than that of Jesus; that my eye could see only Jesus; that my pen could write only about Jesus, and that my thoughts could soar to nothing but Jesus. I have often wondered where on earth there might be something on which I could center my love. But neither on earth nor in heaven do I find any such thing but only my beloved Jesus… I am the fruit of your passion, Jesus, born of your wounds. O Jesus, seek me in love; I no longer possess anything; you have stolen my heart…” *- St. Gemma Galgani

Joining you in this devoted prayer for Rico.

Lord, watch over Rico, your wayward son. In your infinite power and most divine mercy, may you guide him back to you Lord, that he may be forever in your servitude. Grant him strength through his suffering Lord, and through it may his faith and devotion to you strengthen, and carry him forward in healing his spirit and his body. Comfort his family also Lord, while they pray devotedly for his miraculous recovery, so they too may grow closer to you Lord, through profound faith in your eternal glory.

Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You.
Hear us for Your sick servant Rico,
For whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,
That being restored to bodily health,
He may give thanks to You in Your Church.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Praying for Rico and his family…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord, please watch over Rico, who is suffering from this affliction. Help him break the power of the habit and return him to peace and health. Lord, please bless his daughter and all their loved ones in this time. Let them know that You are with them in this suffering.

To the glory of God…

Thank you all for your prayers for my friend’s son.

He is finally out of the hospital and in a rehab center for physical and drug rehabilitation. He has a long road ahead of him, but is eagerly looking forward to his new life.

In the past month and a half, he has survived three major operations. Before the first, all his doctors concurred that he wouldn’t live until morning. The massive infection in all his organs is gone. His failing kidneys have started to function again. The liver damage seems to have reversed.

THE DOCTORS HAVE NO EXPLANATION… THEY DON’T KNOW WHY HE DIDN’T DIE… THEY DON’T KNOW HOW HE’S STILL ALIVE. :hmmm:

We know. 😃:gopray2: :gopray2: :gopray2: :gopray2: :gopray2:
