Is it wrong to pray for certain things if it is not God’s will? for example: if you want your team to win, or if you want someone to like you is it ok to ask God to do this for you or is it being selfish?
We should always seek the will of God, at all times, because we are His children. Jesus himself tells the people during his time here on earth, “I have only come to do the will of the One who has sent me”. We also should have this same mentality.
Code:
We must also seek God's will while in prayer, but first bring/tell Him of your desires, what you would like, and then tell the Lord, "not mine, but your will be done". In other words, tell the Lord what you desire, and if it is His will then, may it be done, but if not, may it not be done.
sincerely,
