A few months back, almost a year ago actually, I made a thread asking for prayers for my student and her loved one after a… “man” did something terrible to her and her mother allowed it to happen. That girl is doing fine now living with her father… well, as fine as she can under the circumstances. Well, I learned during a meeting with the girl’s father that this “man” was “involved in a work ‘accident’” in prison. Something involving another inmate “losing control” of a forklift carrying crates, and dropping it on him. “People” like him don’t last long in prison once others find out. Forgive me for not being sorry that he’s gone. I just hope he found redemption before then.

Our Father…Hail Mary x10
Glory Be…Fatima Prayer…Amen!

SemperFidelis, I remember your posts. I am glad this girl’s life is going well under the circumstances.

We have no way of knowing if this was “justice” or an accident, but I am sure this girl can rest easier knowing he is gone.

Again, thank you for helping her when she needed it. I hope you and your family are well.

O, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, and save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy."

HIS will seems to have been done…

Our Father…Hail Mary x10
Glory Be…Fatima Prayer…Amen!

SemperFidelis,

That’s a rather Satanic prayer request, don’t you think? Honestly, I say this not in anger or with any condemnation in my heart, but rather to offer an idea that has helped me personally. When we have these sorts of malignant and diabolical impulses, it’s moments like these when we have a wonderful and practical opportunity to see ourselves as we truly are, and to also see who is always watching us and who is always with us in the background of our lives: the Devil. And there’s nothing easy about recognizing this, but it’s something all of mankind has in common. Me, you, everyone. The Devil sees our weaknesses and this is always where he applies maximum pressure, where we are weakest and most vulnerable, and where a few choice words whispered in the background of our inner lives is most likely to lead us astray. Just a thought to ponder.

What are you implying? Satanic? He is not asking for anything. He did nothing to this man except to say he isn’t sorry he is gone. I think you **are **being a bit judgemental despite your denial. If you are unfamiliar with his previous threads, you might want yo go back and read them.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Actually, I’m not so much implying as I am positively stating. 🤷 But as I tried to communicate, there can be a fine line between a put down and a correction. And I am unfamiliar with his previous threads, but that has nothing to do with pointing out schadenfreude, which is something everyone has fallen prey to at one time or another. It’s just an example of friendly Catholics helping support and correct one another in hard times. Or that’s how I view it, at any rate. I’ve heard good homilies on the subject before. I have no idea whether Jeffrey Dahmer made a noteworthy impact on people’s lives in Ireland, but here in the U.S. it was a huge deal. In the mid-nineties when he died in prison not all American Catholics were immune to a certain sense of satisfaction; I know I wasn’t. But it’s moments like those when our interior lives are visble to us in incandescent clarity. You know, our spiritual life never begins until we become self-aware of these tendencies we have within us.

First of all, I am American. I live in the United States.

I still say to call what the OP is thinking “Satanic” is out of line.

I am happy that you feel you have become so enlightened, but do not look down at everyone else and label what they think as Satanic. That is just wrong and uncharitable no matter how many big words you want to couch your thoughts in.

Wow.
What ever happened to NOYB?

He’s praying. That’s not good enough for you?

Tough crowd.

Oh, you’re not familiar with the thread? Well, become familiar with them.

The specifics don’t matter, regardless of how gruesome they undoubtedly are. I am sympathetic, and I too have known murder victims as well as rape victims. And I too have been forced into a position of coming to terms with their attackers being imprisoned. It’s a horrible situation from every possible angle, however I would gently suggest that there are better ways for a Catholic to process their grief than by being hard-hearted when the perpetrator is raped and/or tortured and/or murdered while in prison. Personally, I’ve found that the unpleasant and uncomfortable self-confrontation that was forced upon me eventually ended up being a blessing. That is, by grappling with these entirely human responses and an urge for vengeance, which I most assuredly felt, I eventually rose above and beyond through a long and painful process.

Praying for your intentions.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

I pray that for the Man’s sake, the girl will
be able to put the incident behind her and
live a productive and godly life. For the
One who died in prison, may he have
reached Perfect contrition before he died,
that he had loved God and neighbor. That
he had heard or read of God’s Covenanting,
Eternal and Infinite Love embodied in Jesus
Christ and His Church and accepted God’s
pardon and rejected the world, the flesh and
the devil. Amen.

Praying for forgiveness and for the girl and all who know her
God bless
