Praying alone vs with others

I read now and again about the power of two or more praying together. I have no one to pray with. Does this somehow limit the power of my prayers? I would like to think that God hears our prayers even if we are alone and don’t have that close a relationship with someone with whom we can pray together and out loud. Yet I read this so often, sometimes I wonder if, if I had someone praying with me, I would begin to see miracles for things I’ve been praying for, for a long time.
 
You can join in the Rosary prayer, they usually offer that before mass. I don’t know how God feels about prayers done in solitude.
 
We can and should do both…community prayer, and prayer in solitude.

In solitude there is still your guardian angel…and call upon our Blessed Mother.

One type of prayer does not exclude the other.

All prayer is good prayer! I have trouble praying the Nicene Creed during mass! I get out of sync, so I prefer solitary prayer myself…
 
Pick a patron saint. Then ask them to pray with you. It works.

Mt 6:5-6
5-“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
6-But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Jesus often went alone, apart from the disciples, to pray by Himself. So it must have merit with God.
 
I love that idea! I could invite St. Gemma, St. Therese, St. Padre Pio and St. Francis and we can all pray together. Many thanks. God bless you all.
 
And in Liturgy of hours, you pray with the whole Church. Not that prayer in solitude is a bad thing, as explained by others
 
My first thought when reading your post was all the hermit saints, and then the monks and nuns, who in addition to their communal prayer, have individual prayer times. Sometimes in prayer I will imagine that there must be someone in the world who is praying at the same time as I am, and I will mentally join my prayer to theirs. I also love the idea of asking the saints and angels to pray with me.

Thank you for starting the thread and to all those who answered. It has been the impetus for a meditation on the wonderful Communion of Saints. Helped me think of things I might not have considered otherwise. Blessings to all.👍
 
Ruthmary, you put my thoughts wonderfully well.

I constantly ask for the help of my patron-Fathers. They were so incredible during their life here that they must be awesome powerhouses of prayer now!
