As many already know the LDS president passed away a few days ago. On one thread I saw Catholics praying for his soul. I know we as Catholics are to pray for non-Catholics while they are alive…BUT what about after they pass away?
Given that funeral masses and Catholic burial are not allowed to be said for non-Catholics I originally assumed that after these non-Catholics had died we cant/shouldnt pray for them. So far I have taken a lot of flack for that comment, so Im asking around other places.
I would like to see official Church documents that answer this question one way or the other.
I have been asking around to see if people can provide me with some official Church documentation regarding this situation, but so far all I have been told is that we are to pray for everyone.
