Praying for priests

I hope this is the right place to post this.

I seem to remember hearing that we should pray for priests during the processional and recessional (especially during the recessional), but I can’t seem to find any sort of documentation of this.

Is this something I’ve dreamed up?
Or can someone verify that this is a real practice?

I’ve never heard that before but I can’t see why we would not pray for them and in particular for those in attendance at Mass who are leaving now to live the word proclaimed and those unable to attend Mass.

Well, I never heard of that specific direction. Not at all a bad idea however. They really do need our prayers. Consider how our good priests dedicate their lives to bringing us to Christ and work tirelessly to do so. I am really pleased to see that some of them make sure they have some leisure time, and time to connect with others on a fraternal basis.

Nevertheless, having a regular time when the congregation offered up prayers for their clergy would be a good thing. I will start next Mass I attend! Thanks

Yes! Something like this! What I remember, we are encouraged to pray privately that the priest remain faithful to God and to their vows and for any particular needs they have.

I’ve been praying for our priest a lot lately because he seems somehow distracted or sad, or something.

I belong to a women’s faith group,we received this prayer card a few years ago,when Pope Benedict declared ,I believe 2010,the year of the priests.We prayed this prayer at the end of every session.I have continued to pray it daily.I wonder if you type in prayers for priests if it would show up?
