Praying for the Dead

Hello I am a recent convert to Catholicism, I recently had a Uncle pass away 6 weeks ago. How exactly does one go about praying are saying a rosary for some one who is in Purgatory?

You know how you sometimes offer Rosaries for another intention? Well, this is the same. Just pray a Rosary with the intention of easing your uncle’s suffering and time in purgatory.

Note that you can gain a plenary indulgence for your Uncle by praying a group Rosary, or praying the Rosary audibly in a church. Also note that it is up to God whether your Uncle will receive the indulgence or not.

I second the above. And it’s even better to have a Mass said for the repose of his soul. Ask father how to do that, he’ll tell you.

I pray the Rosary for the Dead, Our Lady said ,that we should pray the Rosary for the Soul.s in Purgatory,so that that will gain enterance to the Kingdom of Heaven, only threw the Rosary can the soul,s in Purgatory be free to enter Heaven.Their are prays also we can say, for the souls in Purgartory
