in order to get plenary indulgence, one must pray for the intentions of the Pope. But must I really know the “real words” intentions of the Pope? Or I just say in my prayer, “For the intentions of the Pope.” Is this already okay? Must I really know the word for word the intentions of the Pope for that day?

The Pope does announct monthly intentions, special areas he would like the faithful to apply special prayer; but it is perfectly acceptable (and most commonly done) to just pray “For the intentions of the Holy Father”

God knows what the Pope needs more than we do

The most common way to do this is offer up an Our Father and a Glory Be for the intentions of the pope.
