Praying in Latin?

Keep saying it and eventually you will be able to pray an Ave Maria per 5 seconds.
 
The essential prayers sound beautiful in Latin and sound even more beautiful when chanted in Latin. Go to you tube and watch Blessed John Paul chant the Pater Noster… it will bring tears to your eyes. God appreciates it, in my humble opinion. Anything that brings you closer to Him is worth doing. Anything. The beauty and the Majesty of the Catholic Religion founded by Christ is on full display within the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacred prayers no matter what the language.

Ha ha.

What’s the rush though? The last time I heard it prayed in Latin, the faithful were rushing the responses like crazy.
 
I brushed up on a few latin prayers, wondered why I had then went on a pastoral visit to an old Italian lady in hospital.

She grew up in Italy praying these prayers, so I prayed with her.

The Pater Noster. She appeared very moved.

As long as its not just rubbish but, if you learn the prayer you should be able to understand it. prayers like the our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be are certainly easy enough.:rolleyes:

You’re lucky. Outside of youtube I can’t recall the last time I heard the faithful pray it in Latin. Baffling.
 
I’ve been trying to find certain prayers in Latin, but I haven’t exactly been very successful. Can someone help me?

I’d like the rosary and the ave maria and gloria in latin. I already have the Our Father in latin.
