Praying over someone

What does it mean to pray over someone? I heard the term before, but didn’t know what it meant. Now I’ve read things that mentioned it, as well as heard stuff a hundred times, never knowing what it means
 
My impression is that it is praying for someone in their presence. Possibly including laying hands on this person and/or use of holy water.
 
Lol, I’ll join with Spirithound’s redundant agreement.

Basically, its praying for someone while either having your hands laid on them, or extended towards them. Multiple stories in the bible suggest that God tends to work through this type of prayer, so many people practice it.
