I am shocked and dismayed at how many people, even Catholics, are suggesting that this child disobey his mother and own a rosary. He is forbidden from owning a rosary. Honor thy Father and Mother. These are not difficult rules to understand. Thanks be to God that he is not forbidden from praying the rosary, because that would be more problematic.

I am praying for the OP and the conversion of his mother’s heart.
The depth and breadth of a familiarity with Catholicism, ie doctrine, documents, canon law, papal statements, et al, even if only to pose pertinent questions in a series of many posts, in someone self-identifying as a 15 year old growing up in an anti-Catholic family has had me saying “hmmm” :hmmm: for sometime now.

Indeed. Post 57 seems particularly surprising and unlikely to come from a 15 year old non-Catholic.

I am not a troll if that is what you are thinking. I’ve wanted to be Catholic for a long time. I love to study the Faith and the lives of the saints. Please do not judge me by my age. I wish everyone else my age had as much knowledge of the Faith as I do. As St. Jerome said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”

Maybe he’s just a smart kid who loves learning about Catholicism. He said he’s thinking about being a priest.

Just because most 15 year-olds are more interested in partying and shopping doesn’t mean that this kid thinks the same way. I know from experience. I was always “wise beyond my years” and it confused a lot of people.

I’m 16 years old and have been interested in the worlds religions my whole life. I taught myself Hebrew in 4th grade and learned about Judaism. I also learned Greek and studied the Greek orthodox Church. I have even taken 4 years of Latin classes and found for myself the truth in the Catholic Church. I come from Protestantism just like bben15 and I found my way across the Tiber just like he has.

He isn’t a troll. He is just an educated teen.

God bless him

Thank you, Landon. 🙂

Fair enough, I will take your word for it. I must say that I find your familiarity with so many topics including Catholic doctrine, Church history, Eastern religions, and Protestant denominations and the ease with which you quote popes, saints, canon law and council documents simply amazing, especially given your age and background.

That warmed my heart. Thank you. 🙂
Well, I meant it.

It doesn’t seem like many are actually reading your posts, and some are reading with skepticism. 🤷

Try the string rosary, I have one, and my wife has one too. They’re great for carrying around, I’ve had to repair my chain links way too many times, so now that one stays at home. Stick with the “pocket-proof” ones.

Or invest in a carrying container.🤷

Are you available for adoption? (j/k :D)

Stay the course!🙂

You may win your entire family before you’re done. God bless you.
