I hope this is the right place to ask this question, and I did a search of the forum and couldn’t find anything. I couldn’t find anything on the internet either.
I just started praying the Rosary, which I have found to be astoundingly powerful. The beads I got were the St. Benedict ones, which I was drawn to as I have used the Medal of St. Benedict with the prayer when using sacramentals (long story).
Anyway, I know that the St. Benedict Rosary is slightly different. Am I correct in assuming that I can petition St. Benedict after saying The Our Father? In other words, can I turn the small crucifix over to the medal side, pray a petition, and proceed with the next decade?
PS. I’m still getting used to the cross with the Corpus. It’s a very strong reminder of the price Christ paid for redeeming us from sin, conquering death, a reminder of what it means to carry our own cross, how dangerous entanglement with sin can really be, etc. I prefer it to the bare “he-is-risen-so-it’s-like-almost-nothing-happened-so-no-big-deal-anyway” Protestant cross (sorry for any offense taken by my fellow Protestants).
