I have recently started praying the Angelus three times daily, but am not sure what I am accomplishing or gaining from these prayers. What have you gained from praying the Angelus daily? Be specific if you can.

The Hail Mary is a good devotion and constancy and perseverance will bear much fruit to any devotion with the right dispositions.

I do it to remind myself of the Incarnation and my consecration to Our Lady, but I’m not sure what I should be experiencing or what fruit I should be gaining from this devotion.

I try to offer up my noon Angelus in thanksgiving for God’s mercy and the one at 3:00 for His Divine Mercy. If there is a sudden prayer request or emergency, the Angelus is offered up for that.

I’m praying it to honor Mary and make her happy, not because I’m looking to “gain” something from it.

We need to be praying without always thinking of “what am I going to get out of this” and just do it to honor God and help others.

It’s also a connection to tradition, in my mind. In the olden times, when the church bells rang 6, noon and 6, everybody dropped what they were doing and prayed the Angelus. I try to stick to the traditional times as much a possible though sometimes I end up doing it late.

I think he is talking about spiritual benefits like graces that will help us to be better Catholics

You’re helping to keep a important Tradition of the Church alive. That alone would be a good reason, but I’m sure the Angelus brings many spiritual graces.

If I’m getting graces from my prayers, it’s through the grace of God, and I have no idea which specific prayer of mine is bringing which grace since i say a lot of different prayers.

So I can’t really attach a particular grace benefit to a specific prayer at this point.

I use it to offer prayers for vocations or other needs of the church.

That’s what I’m doing. I’m really not expecting something out of this, I just wanted to know if it would touch my spiritual life in any way.

That’s exactly what I mean. Sorry that I don’t choose my words well.

It makes me happy. Angels appearing, cooperation with God happening, Incarnating.

One of the major goals of Christian life is living God’s will. What more beautiful example of this exists than the Incarnation? It is half a prayer of abandonment to the Holy Spirit and half honoring the Blessed Mother.

It’s a good way to honor our Lady, and the Incarnation. It also reminds us of the truths of our faith.

Everyone should stop throughout the day to pray. It helps us to prioritize what is right. I find that the more I pray each day, the more things tend to go smoothly. I wish I would remember this when I am busy and not praying frequently

When you are praying the Angelus daily, you are uniting yourself to everyone in the world who is praying at the same time. Imagine how great the world would be if everyone was praying at the same time.
