If I wanted to pray the hours – and in Latin – what source material would I need?

If you go were they have Latin Mass at a parish, the Miss-elates have it in Latin, and the right side in English.,for those who can,t follow Latin. Hope this help,s you…

Well, the current Liturgy of the Hours is available in Latin and is called “Liturgia Horarum”.

There’s also an excellent Latin-French antiphonary to chant the Liturgy of the Hours in Gregorian chant, called Les Heures Grégoriennes. I use it extensively.

You might find the current LOTH in Latin more approachable than the pre-Vatican II breviary, as it is easier (psalter spread out over 4 weeks instead of 1), has an easier to manage liturgical year, and is much more flexible for laity whose lives may not have monastic regularity…

Personally, I would urge you to use one of the online resources first. The volumes are very expensive and an online resource, such as iBreviary, allows you to test your preference before making an investment.

Does iBreviary have the prayers in Latin?

Yes. If you go under “options”, you can choose from various languages including Italian, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Latin. If you choose Latin, it will be the post conciliar breviary. However, you can choose instead the vetus ordo or the Rito Ambrosiano.
