Praying the Rosary in Latin Online?

Dear Traditional Catholicism Forum,
Hey how are you guys doing? I hope well! My name is Anthony Perlas and tonight we are having a rosary said online for everyone to “tune in” as well as to pray it in Latin. I figured that since everyone pretty much gave up Facebook, it would be nice to fill in that hole with something that is prayer.

I want to emphasize that the Rosary online is not meant to replace the gathering of people in groups. If you haven’t heard a Latin rosary or if you’re simply interested in praying with us as one, tune it at lmsociety.com at 8:30 PM EST.

Love Latin mass, it’s the only mass I can attend now. This sounds great, Ty for sharing!🙂

Hey Ava,
Glad to hear it! Recently our state has made a low-mass available every Sunday mornings in NC. So we can definitely attend a Latin Mass every Sunday! And it’s also part-solemn with the amazing choir!

My only concern is the direction this is going in terms of graphics! On one hand we don’t want to “give in” to secularization. On the other hand, what’s the best way to reach out to people who are “into the world”? Facebook seems to dominate everyone’s lives.

I’m new to the Traditional Movement and what I love about it is the reverence and peace it brings to my soul. It’s one of those things that when you attend it, it’s hard to go back to a Novus Ordo.

But as the interview goes the “novus ordo” and the “TLM” are like the left and right hand of Jesus. You can’t love one and hate the other.

What’s everyone’s stance on this? Are we “doing good” by allowing our brethren to conveniently pray the Rosary online? Or are we actually giving into secularism?

Rosary with Pope John Paul II. There are two CDs included, one in English from Knock, Ireland (not with the Pope) and one in Latin with the Pope. I personally love the Latin one and pray the Rosary with it quite often. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that is really available anymore on Amazon. There are others, but I’m not sure what language they are.

Could you briefly tell me what’s inside the CD? Like a brief rundown on how it works. I’d love to reproduce our own to give out for free to people so that they will be more encouraged to pray it in Latin!

Two CDs

1st CD - Pope JP II praying the Rosary in Latin from 1979
2nd CD - Father Colm Kilcoyne praying the Rosary in English

They gave a small booklet that has the words for the Latin Rosary

The Pope JP II Rosary doesn’t have the same opening prayers that we typically have. So no Apostles Creed, Our Father, three Hail Marys, Glory Be. Also no Fatima prayer.

Each rosary is opened by a short Marian hymn.
Joyful Mysteries has O Sanctissima
Sorrowful Mysteries has Salve Mater Misericordiae
Glorious Mysteries has Ave Maris Stella

They don’t have the Luminous mysteries since this took place prior to JP II creating them.

Otherwise it’s the normal way of doing it. The Pope announces each mystery in Latin then begins the prayers. He finishes up with a prayer (Only thing I don’t like is that they don’t have the full text of the prayer) and then the Episcopal Blessing and on to the next group of Mysteries.

The booklet then has the words, for example, here’s the text for the Joyful Mysteries. CAPS is the Pope.
