I wonder if anyone else prays the rosary in the car on the way to work - if so, do you have a copy on CD/iPod etc that you listen to? I’m trying to find a clear one which has the wording correct; a few I’ve listened to aren’t exactly accurate (in terms of what I’ve been used to at Church and through EWTN for example with Mother Angelica’s version at 12:30 GMT).

Any suggestions/links would be gratefully received.

Every time I take a ride in my car,or if I have too wait for one of my son,s, I well take my Rosary and pray it,I love praying the Rosary,it protects me and I feel at peace while traving ,even if It,s a half hr drive one way. Our Lady loves us when we pray to her,Jesus is also happy, that we love his mother Mary.

I used to. Before I retired I had an hour commute to work and would pray the Rosary during that time. I prayed it from memory but I also have a CD from the Mary Foundation catholicity.com/cds/ . I also have an app on my phone with the Rosary.

Hi LouiseHine, Merry Christmas! I have a long commute, about an hour and 15 minutes, so I pray a Rosary on the way each morning. I like Fr. Benedict Groeschel’s version ($8.99 MP3 download on Amazon), but there are plenty of free downloads on the net:

I especially like the Rosary Army’s version, the first link in the search results. I like to change them up every so often to get a different perspective on each Mystery when they have descriptions or Scriptural references.

Fr. Mitch Pacwa was once asked if praying the rosary while driving was proper, and his response was, “Well, it’s certainly a better alternative to what I see other motorists doing with their fingers.”

When you take a walk, you can lso say the Rosary, I do. God Bless my friend in Christ.

There’s a wonderful rosary app called Rosarium. I like it because it gives you many options such as selecting different real voices to say the rosary with. It also gives you the option to lead the rosary, have the recorded voice “lead” (I like these options when I’m driving) you can record your own voice, you can listen to it in other languages, etc. There’s several good rosary apps out there, but this is my favorite.

I do it regularly, using my fingers. I’m not sure of any good cd’s, but I find it helpful to have some Gregorian chant playing quietly if I’m getting distracted.

I pray the Rosary in the car.
And by the way, there is no wrong way to pray it. It’s a private devotion, and if you like it one particular way, do that. But don’t fall into thinking that one way is better than the other.
The basics are the basics. The “bells and whistles” can vary.
Don’t fret.
I use a rosary rind which I hold in one hand while I drive. Doesn’t get in the way.

I think it’s more important and sincere if one prays from the heart, and not follow a tape, recording, software, or such. I know we all try to be accurate but that only counts if you have to do penance or do a vocal prayer with others. Although they serve a purpose, they’re not always sincere in that environment IMO.

If you’re concerned about the right mysteries and the like, you can always read them beforehand and apply the intentions then. Just a suggestion.

I use the one that is sold on www.promultis Media.com I like the one in Latin but my wife prefers the on in English. So I bought both CD’s. we drive a long way for our FSSP Mass so this passes the time safely for us.

The other day I was raying the Rosary, Luminous mysteries and realised afterwards that I had Resurrection instead of Baptism as the first mystery.

😊

I will check back here later. My grandmother would love to hear the Rosary on a CD. She used to sing the Our Father by cliff Richards.

Off-topic: please pray for my grandmother.

She was married to my Catholic grandfather but was baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church. She died on the 7/72013.

It brings me to tears when all my Afrikaans friends ignore me and I don’t know why.

Please pray for me. I will now pray for the other prayer intentions because I pray too much for myself.

I know what you mean, for I have lead the Rosary in church many times, other times we take turn,s saying a decade at a time, and then one would lead us-at the end.

Yes, I many times say the rosary on the train or bus to or from work. I sometimes use my fingers to count, but have tried this iPhone app: itunes.apple.com/us/app/laudate-1-free-catholic-app/id499428207?mt=8. Laudete has a few different rosary podcasts–I like the one with Christian Peshken.

The Rosary Army podcast is also good: rosaryarmy.newevangelizers.com.

I second this recommendation. It is also available on Spotify.

His voice is so soothing, though, that I cannot listen to it if I am tired.

Thanks for your advice, everryone, - what a range of selections you all know about! I eventually found individual tracks on Amazon and have downloaded them onto my ipod (79p each) so that I can pick which day I need.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who wants to/says the Rosary on the way to work - I think it will help make me more focused in my job, or at least I hope it will.
