Praying The Rosary With Children

Hi, do you know of any online sites to buy rosary beads appropriate for children aged k-1st grade? I have been at Mass before and the school children have handed out these little bags with a paper on how to pray the rosary and Rosary beads made out of plastic? Thanks.
 
I will happily mail you as many rosaries as you would like, in whatever color you would like(for free of course!!). I make mission rosaries and have hundreds. Just PM me your address if you want some. God bless.
 
Looks like you have some good options here. I was just going to say that we or family always get the little ones a “my first rosary” that is usually large wood beads, large wood cross, etc.

They still get broken though, we have a lot of rosary parts.

We have an entire basket full of broken rosaries! Even with my own rosaries, the little ones like to pull on them. Honestly, I mostly count on my fingers because I usually end up relinquishing my rosary to a little one fairly early on. My 2-year-old will sometimes collect 3 or 4 before the rosary is done. I’ve found that knotted rosaries are very durable with kids, more so even than the plastic ones.
 
A friend of mine also makes cord rosaries. The “beads” are actually knots tied in the cord. I think she found the instructions online. eHow.com has pretty good instructions on it. The great thing is there are no actual beads to pull off and little ones, if they find their way into their mouths, aren’t in danger of choking on the knots. They are also very tactile satisfying.
 
My kids LOVE making their own rosaries. They started with a decade. They put colourful beads on a string and a cross. I recommend using quite large beads. I’ve seen rosaries made from horse chestnuts as well. 🙂
 
I ordered a bulk DIY kiddie rosary kit from Oriental Trading Company - a dozen for $17.49 total ($10.50 +$6.99 s&h makes each about $1.46 apiece 👍) seeing as I have 4 children. Not only is it cheaper than buying one ready made for kids, putting them together is a fun family activity. The extras are great to have on hand to gift also. The cross and beads are very large, multicolored and wooden. They also come with basic prayer cards.
