Praying the Rosary

I commintted a mortal sin (porn/masterbating) and I am real sorry for it and I am going to confession on saturday. And I have asked God to forgive me. But what I want to know is if I pray the rosary befor I go to confession is it valid? Can I go on with my life befor saturday or do I need to stay in my house until I can go to confession? I am scared to death that if I go out and about befor confession that something will happen like a car crash and I will end up in hell.

God knows your heart, and if you are truly sorry for your sins and intend to not sin again, then there’s no sense in worrying about what-ifs.

St. Louis de Montfort said that if God only heard our prayers when we were in a state of grace, then there’d be no point in praying. Or something to that effect. Pray the rosary, and offer it for the purpose of making a good confession on Saturday and having true sorrow for your sins.

Total agreement with BennyBoy. Your prayers are valid and efficacious. Try making an act of perfect contrition, then follow through with confession on Saturday.

I totally agree with last 2 posts. Might add that praying the rosary is good way of gaining graces to avoid temptations and occasions of sin both before and after confession. If we’re filling our minds and time with good, not much room for evil…

Your prayers will obtain many graces for you, and are a wonderful way to prepare for a difficult confession. God bless you. You may also want to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy… before hand.

And remember the words of Our dear Lord… as He waits to embrace you in the Sacrament of Reconciliation…
