Praying the Rosary

When you pray a rosary are we suppose to say 50 or 150. I just name the mystery prior to saying the prayers. Is this sufficient? I usually say three of the 50 three times a day. To and from work and one at lunch. I have read where folks find it hard to concentrate at times. Thanks and God Bless.

The standard is:

Monday: Joyful Mysteries (consisting of 5 decades)

Tuesday: Sorrowful Mysteries (5 decades)

Wednesday: Glorious Mysteries (5)

Thursday: Luminous Mysteries (5)

Friday: Sorrowful Mysteries (5)

Saturday: Joyful Mysteries (5)

Sunday: Glorious Mysteries (5)

If you choose to work around that with any alternate amount of decades then that is between you and God.

Meditation on the Mysteries is also important when praying the Rosary.
You can use the Bible to meditate on the relevant mysteries because the Holy Rosary is in most part Scriptural. I use this link sometimes.

I do 5 decades a day in accordance with the prescribed mysteries Friard listed. I’ve read thr descriptions of the mysteries and review/contemplate them during each decade. I usually do this in the early morning.

in the evening I’ll do several decades for those I have promised prayers to here on CAF, my family, and any personal intention I have.
