I found a lovely site about St. Expedite. He was removed from the liturgical calendar due to a lack of evidence that he really existed.
On the website are many testimonies from people who obtained some kind of favor on his intercession (traditions says that he answers urgents needs quickly)
Would it be ok to pray on his intercession in urgent needs or would it be better to go to saints that are still on the calander like St. Jude.

Absolutely. There is nothing in Catholic teaching to the effect that a saint must be on any particular list before we can pray to them.

How do you suppose the over ten thousand Saints would fit on the average yearly calendar?
Of course it’s ok. Having a widely celebrated feast day has nothing to do with it.
Pray as you wish, it’s fine. 🙂

There’s nothing wrong with praying to a saint not on the Liturgical calendar.

Agreed. Besides, the calendar was reformed once, and can be reformed later. That has no bearing on the lives, sanctity, or intercessory capacities of those Saints who are on (or off) the calendar. 😉
