Hi,
I just wonder if its permitted to pray to St. Silouan or St. Naum of Ochrid as Catholic or any other Orthodox canonised saints for that matter or is it unacceptable for us to do so?

There are those who will say to you absolutely not, however, there is no reason why you cannot have a private devotion to an Orthodox Saint. You know that we share many of the Saints but in regards to Saints that have been Canonized since the Schism Pope John Paul II said himself there Salvation is assured. I have devotion to Orthodox Saints, especially to St. Nektarios who is honoured and prayed to by Eastern Catholics even though he was an Orthodox Bishop and Saint.

We are allowed to pray to any of the Holy Souls and many people pray to their relatives etc. there is no reason why you cannot pray to anyone or for anyone who has died. Praying to an Orthodox Saint is fine as far as I am concerned, I know some would say that is wrong but even the Pope has said that the Orthodox Church has perfectly valid Sacraments and is a valid Church, therefore, their Saints are “Saints”. So why not?
